Retired secondary PE teacher here. My undergrad degree in PE included courses in anatomy, physiology, growth and development, psychology, etc. I did a concurrent degree in biology with an emphasis on vertebrate anatomy and evolution. From the moment I first encountered this madness my gut told me it was not only wrong but incredibly dangerous. I taught healthy sexuality fearlessly my entire career..when may others didn’t. This was particularly true during the Covid years when no teacher was comfortable delivering this material online. The social contagion element was painfully obvious when we returned to in person school. Prior to Covid there were very few trans identifying students. Post Covid there was an absolute explosion, particularly among girls. As Mia Hughes has stated, teen girls have ever been the most susceptible group to the phenomenon of social contagion. The cognitive dissonance of this madness coupled with all the other destructive elements of the social justice agenda and the certainty that speaking out would lead to the loss of the career I had built my life around nearly destroyed me. The price of this nonsense will be incalculable.

Notes from the Under Dog L.'s avatar

I've been railing against this insanity since the first "pronoun power" workshop at the university where I teach; it seemed to have come from the US (Obama) government down, since the restrooms became 'gender neutral' overnight, just as he was leaving office. In said workshop, I refused to say my pronouns. Sorry, no, not going to enable this running off the rails narcissism. The ugly outcomes should have been obvious to all.

It is perhaps one of my most perverse fascinations, how anyone -- anyone -- could not only buy this, but PROMOTE it.
