My Judicial Review Approaches: Will the Revolution March On in Canada?
The OCT decided to set a new precedent in my case, but I appealed. Will far left colonization of our institutions stand, or fall?

Next month, I will stand before the court in a precedent-setting appeal. The Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) intention is clear: they want my case to be the new precedent, by which they will punish and eject professionals who refuse to bow to far left revolutionary ideology. They want the power to silence conservatives and Christians, even when we constrain our political speech to our private life, even when we engage in political activism away from school, even when no students or parents claim harm, and even when we use a pseudonym while engaging in online political speech.
If OCT succeeds, and my appeal fails, my case will be used to silence professionals across Canada, further chilling freedom of conscience and expression for everyone in what is already a very icy environment. During my hearing, the OCT lawyer revealed her appetite for proposed Liberal legislation clamping down on “hate speech”, trying to use this law that does not yet exist to strengthen her argument for the most extreme possible punishment against me.
The UK is hogging all the negative attention for quashing freedom of conscience right now, but Canada is likewise beheading freedom on the guillotine of left wing progressivism. It is highly ironic that they do this in the name of fighting “incitement” and “rising hate” — because anyone not indoctrinated into their cult can easily deduce that leftists are full of hate, and their praxis IS a form of constant incitement, yet they only target that which they find offensive on the right side of the political spectrum.
A lot of people haven’t heard of my case. Since I was fired by the Toronto Catholic District School Board in 2021, I have been busy rebuilding my career in a different industry, and I haven’t been seeking publicity or seeking public support for my defense. Every once in a while, I am forced to return to fight this fight. The legal processes that result from a cancelation like mine are long, slow, and grueling. The process is also the punishment, as they say.
My termination was triggered by my decision to use a union meeting in the spring of 2021 to object to instances of left wing ideological colonization in our workplace. I wrote about that fateful union meeting and the fallout in an article found here.
After that meeting, I was reported, suspended, investigated, and fired. I was stripped of my teaching license by OCT in 2024. None of this reflects any classroom misconduct. I was not punished for harming children. I was tossed out for following my conscience, which by the mid 2010s began leading me into the political fray, as I observed that noxious, divisive and deceitful neoMarxist ideologies were taking over our institutions.
I am compelled to resist those belief frameworks, because it is clear to me that they are harmful to society in general, and children in particular.
For refusing to kneel to BLM, for questioning gender ideology, and for warning about Islamist intimidation, I am now deemed unemployable as a teacher. I am not the only one, of course: the revolutionary new world order rejects conservative and Christian beliefs, and has expelled and driven out many others like me. I don’t take it personally. This has been the way of every left wing revolution in history.
Ironically, it was my professional training (the knowledge and skills that I was paid for) that enabled me to be an early noticer of the revolutionary wave engulfing us. I was trained to understand dystopian literature, satire, critical thinking and argumentation, critical theory. I taught Brave New World for nearly 20 years, then found myself living it.
Teaching Was My Calling
I was a teacher of English and Media. I did not became a teacher for the long holidays and job security, and I certainly did not choose teaching for the pay. My calling was vocational… spiritual. The book that inspired me to become a teacher is The Soul’s Code by James Hillman, a prominent psychoanalyst.

The arc of my teaching career makes a lot of sense as I revisit the themes of that fateful book!
I felt called to to help people develop their ability to use language as a tool for knowledge and self-awareness, to discover truth, and to explore the beauty, diversity, and meaningfulness of life. As a teacher, I wanted to be a guiding light and force for good, to be a teacher who made individual students feel seen as individuals, to shepherd and strengthen struggling young souls navigating heartless transactional systems.
Over the almost 20 years of my career, I came to specialize in working with vulnerable and struggling students in alternative school environments, and I was pretty good at this work. The venal OCT lawyer twisted the fact of my specialization to fearmonger that I would be especially dangerous in a school full of young people from immigrant and unprivileged backgrounds. Zero evidence exists to support her assertion, by the way. Zero complaints surfaced related to my actual work with students.
It was literally my job to show students how satire and commentary both written and oral are used to challenge narratives and reveal truth.
When the time came for me to use those tools in defense of all that I hold dear, I didn’t hesitate for fear of job loss. I knew it was risky, but this is so. much. bigger. than. me.
Noxious far left ideological capture became complete in 2020 in the wake of the George Floyd riots. Specifically, we were commanded to show fealty to BLM and the tenets of critical race theory. Every in-service was designed to indoctrinate us with some aspect of critical social justice ideology and the new global order.
I knew that BLM was a radical Marxist revolutionary movement spreading anti-white, anti-family rhetoric, and fomenting violent revolution with outright lies. I had to resist, but I didn’t resist by treating my classroom as a battleground for ideological control. I am against using youth as culture war pawns, and using schools as centers of political activation. I voiced my concerns in the proper, professional way, raising them in a union meeting where professional dissent is supposed to be heard.
Outside of work, I had for years been expressing myself and raising the alarm against the revolution. I wrote commentary off-duty, under a pseudonym, rarely mentioning my profession, and never directly naming my employer or regulator. These were the actions of a free individual using her voice in the open marketplace of ideas during a time of significant cultural upheaval.
A single teacher colleague who knew about my online activity turned on me after I spoke out in the union meeting. I triggered her, she shared my online content with her comrades, and they decided to report me despite union meeting confidentiality protocols. They even broke the Teaching Professions Act, as not a single one of them informed me directly of their adverse reporting. For years, I was kept in the dark about who complained, and what they said. I learned eventually that colleagues said they couldn’t work with me knowing my beliefs. The counselor said she couldn’t bear to place certain students in my class for fear I would harm them. I was a relatively popular teacher, btw, who had good success for many years working closely with individuals from all the groups they claim that I hate.
The school board and regulator both refused to acknowledge the satirical quality of many of the posts they found offensive. They deliberately misinterpreted obviously anti-racist satirical commentary as racist in order to frame me as hateful. My railing against Marxist collectivism and racial essentialism was framed as evidence of white supremacy. Posts that were clearly against the systemic violence and totalitarianism of Islamic fundamentalism were framed as Islamophobic, even though the evidence included in my case contains my stated refusal to paint all Muslims with that same brush.
My professional training and skills enabled me to participate in public discourse about matters of great significance to our civilization, but since my beliefs do not align with the left wing revolutionary ideals and goals that our state institutions have fully embraced, this was called misconduct.
The OCT lawyer, Danielle Miller, stated during the disciplinary hearing that it doesn’t make any difference whether one is assessing one of my edgy satirical memes, or one of my long-form academic essays — it ALL stands as evidence of misconduct and unsuitability to be an educator. The problem is ME. The issue is that a person with MY POLITICAL BELIEFS is not fit to teach in Ontario.
The revolution came, and I didn’t jump on the bandwagon.
She said I didn’t keep up with the times, so I have to go.
These bureaucrats never honestly admit that they are agents of left wing revolution — they use all kinds of euphemisms about progress and equity. But anyone closely studying this matter knows, and names this as a revolutionary moment in western civilization. And of course, the far left revolutionary strategists planned it this way. They have a name for it: “the long march through the institutions”.
Why I Refused the Revolution
I am a Christian. At the very heart of my personal religious beliefs is the primacy of freedom of conscience. I believe that the imperative is on each individual to seek truth, and God: this is the soul journey that makes life meaningful.
From childhood, I felt aware of being here on a spiritual journey, and my life has been a quest to understand that aspect of my life better, a journey toward God, if you will. My faith affirms my own knowledge that truth matters, that male and female are real, that strong families are the cornerstone of civilization, that life has value, that demonic forces are always at work on us, that Islam is not the way to God and truth, and that coercion in matters of belief is wrong. These are not fringe ideas. They are some of the most basic Christian convictions that have shaped our civilization.
I worked within the Catholic school system, where I had every reason to believe that Catholic teachers had a right to uphold Catholic beliefs. The Vatican has issued clear directives warning against far left ideological colonization, and specifically rejecting the falsehoods of gender ideology. Yet at the punishment stage, the OCT explicitly rejected consideration of Vatican missives as a factor worth considering. They acted as if Catholic doctrine has no standing, even in Catholic education. In practice, they declared that the Catholic conscience must bow to revolutionary ideology.
The OCT’s position is that I failed to keep up with newly imposed orthodoxy that trumps Christian beliefs and morality.
It is worth noting here that administrators are only able to use these new revolutionary beliefs to silence dissent because they position “marginalized identity groups” as both weapons and shields: their framework forces objective falsehoods about these groups on us, such as:
—BLM race Marxism represents and advances the interests of all black people
—TQ+ radicalism represents all LGBT people and increases their safety
—Silencing “Islamophobes” protects Muslims and defends their dignity
But nothing could be further from the truth! My community of dissidents contains legions of black, LGBT, and Muslim people who LOATHE the new orthodoxy and can’t bear to be lumped in with the far left movements wreaking havoc on society.
Why I Was Right
I knew I was right to resist, and time continues to vindicate me. By now, in 2025, a great deal of left wing devastation has accumulated. The damage and division caused by the new orthodoxy is in plain sight all around us.
BLM has imploded under corruption scandals, financial mismanagement, and public exposure of their deceit, manipulation, and incitement of violence. Their Marxist revolutionary platform has fizzled and people are disillusioned with CRT. Pushback against DEI grows, as we have seen it create endless division and new discrimination. DEI is destroying western traditions of rewarding excellence. We no longer live in a meritocracy. The movement we were all forced to endorse did not increase equality and quality of life for people. It has been exposed as fraudulent and damaging. Race relations were set back enormously by this movement.
Gender ideology is unraveling. Around the world, pediatric transition programs are being rolled back. Damaged people are detransitioning, and accusing teachers, therapists, and doctors of enabling permanent harm to them. The recklessness of sex change medicalization is now undeniable. An uncomfortable number of sexual predators have been exposed hiding in plain sight in LGBTQIA+ activist communities. A militant TQ+ fringe has fused with Antifa, and their proclivity for violence has become gravely concerning, as many recent murders are attributed to members of this subculture. Even in regular street protests that don’t produce serious incidents of violence, we can see that “gender activism” has devolved into a frenzied carnival of intimidation and rage.
Islamist incursions go beyond blasphemy codes. Canadian authorities have documented networks raising funds and recruiting here to advance the global caliphate movement, with attacks planned on Canadian soil. Yet our institutions enforce “anti-Islamophobia” rules that silence critics while ignoring the real threat. Globalist leaders continue to sponsor mass immigration of Muslims into western nations, and several European nations are now severely destabilized as a result. Since the Hamas massacre in Israel, our streets have been full of Islamists calling for death to the west, and hate crimes against Jews have skyrocketed.
I saw these realities coming. I refused to lie about them. My online activity explicitly warned about these eventualities.
I have three of my own children who will inherit this society, and I dedicated my career to helping and protecting all children from systemic harms.
But instead of recognizing that my concerns were/are legitimate, the OCT expelled me. The establishment is pretending that all these social problems can be fixed if they simply keep killing the messengers.
To justify their decision to revoke my license, they overreached and presented the most extreme precedent they could find. If you’ve been following the culture wars, you will have no trouble guessing the nature of this “close precedent” case: yes, it was about a Nazi. It was a case in which the OCT revoked the teaching license of a literal Nazi.
The OCT lawyer presented a neoNazi activist teacher who organized white supremacist rallies in his spare time as the closest precedent to my case, and the tribunal agreed with her. This is not surprising. Consider this: one of my adjudicators was a woman who openly showed support for BLM, Angela Davis, black power Marxism, race-based adjudication in several of the posts and likes on her professional twitter feed. This woman refused to recuse herself when we made this a point of contention by filing a motion for apprehension of bias. Not only was the recusal motion dismissed, but the OCT lawyer accused me of racism for even bringing it, suggesting I was only reacting to the woman’s skin colour... such is the damage that ideological capture has wrought on our legal system.
In her arguments for revocation, the OCT lawyer said that I am not only just like that Nazi who organized white supremacist rallies in his spare time, but I am WORSE, because my content reached more people.
Think about that.
A teacher of English, media, and art (who btw is also a published writer) uses words and images in the tradition of the disciplines in which she is trained, as a means by which to defend freedom of conscience and pluralism, and reject communist subversion and totalitarianism. But she is understood by her Ontario professional regulatory body as being WORSE THAN A LITERAL NAZI for doing this in her spare time, and so they eject her from the profession she trained for and was by all accounts reasonably good at.
This is really just silly, if you look at it closely. I was not ejected for being a Nazi or a fascist. I didn’t post content that aligns with Nazism or fascism. I have never been a Nazi.
The truth is, I used to vote as a leftist. I used to think I was more or less on their side, because I thought the left defended freedom and individualism… but I was never a Marxist leftist. As it turns out, I was dead wrong, and I was never actually a leftist at heart: the left does not defend freedom or individualism, and they will destroy civilization to advance Marxism.
As Charlie Kirk said, “the left hates the idea that there are other ideas”.
Punishing conservatives and Christians because we are “Nazis” and “fascists” has become the hallmark of left wing activism and militancy. But ultimately, it can not stand, and will not stand.
A massive pushback and revival is occurring now, that has been greatly accelerated by Charlie’s assassination. All glory to God for that!
Truth Has Become Punishable
My case exposes something profoundly wrong with today’s society: truth itself has become punishable if it offends a protected minority. That is the new blasphemy law, in Canada and beyond.
It no longer matters if what you say is factual, reasonable, or widely shared. If it crosses the ideological lines of the new regime, it is branded as hate. Professionals are erased, reputations destroyed, livelihoods ended.
This is how peaceful, law-abiding dissenters are cast as dangerous, while radicals who call for violence or exploit religion for political power are excused.
This is two-tier justice.
But more importantly, this is revolutionary social engineering.
The rhetoric used against me is part of a wider pattern. It is the same playbook used all over the western societies engulfed in this revolutionary fervor: satire is branded as “hate,” dissent is delegitimized and even criminalized as incitement, while even extreme violence from their side is justified and excused as cries for help from racialized and marginalized victims of western imperialist systems of oppression.
The exact same smear campaigning and language controls are used as weapons in North America, South America, western Europe, and down under: mainstream conservative and Christian voices of dissent against the leftist-globalist “Great Reset” are labeled as “extremist,” making them fair game for censorship, harassment, or worse. As citizens find out that the Great Reset really is not great at all, but quite the opposite, and try to use their voices and votes to change direction, leftist leadership rachets up the authoritarianism. This is not just happening to Canada, it is a time of civilizational crisis.
Regular people often can’t see the big picture clearly, because they are conditioned to think of revolution as violent takeover, and the bad guys as right wingers, not communists. This is because education and language have become revolutionary weapons, and systemic indoctrination very purposely marks even relatively moderate conservative and Christian dissenters as targets that need to be eliminated for realization of new society founded on “diversity, equity, and inclusion”. Oh, the irony!
A New Authoritarian Triad
What I faced is not just bureaucratic overreach. The evidence used to cancel my career fell into three main categories. This bureaucratic overreach in the professions is part of a larger authoritarian convergence — a triad of forces dedicated to top-down social engineering that now police conscience and speech across the West:
The revolutionary left — Marxist belief frameworks refined in the academic world have spread, and these radical ideologies have taken hold in institutions and trickled down to street praxis: BLM, Antifa, and militant TQ+ activists act as a Red Guard enforcing ideological loyalty and silencing dissent. The hammer and sickle has made a return as a ubiquitous symbol in western street culture.
Globalist enforcers — regulators, corporations, and bureaucracies impose conformity with revolutionary orthodoxy: they use DEI and ESG mechanisms to purge dissent within the professions, and redefine morality through policy. This collusion between state bodies, NGOs, and corporations is much more “fascist” than anything we have seen from the right lately.
Islamist authoritarians — exploiting “anti-Islamophobia” codes to suppress criticism, even as fundraising, organizing, and public agitation for global caliphate and global intifada continue on Canadian soil and throughout the west. Islamists are now openly proselytizing for destruction of western civilization in western streets, and citizens are censured and fired for raising alarm about their goals and dangerous fundamentalist beliefs.
Together, these forces are dismantling the foundations of western society:
Freedom of conscience, speech, and association
Minimal state control, equality under law, primacy of the individual
Peaceful coexistence based on use of non-violent discourse to handle conflict
Healthy pluralism, a live-and-let-live philosophical orientation
But these are our western birthright, and core to our Christian religious beliefs! We are called to resist when they are under direct attack.
Why My Case Matters
This October, the court will decide more than whether I can keep my teaching license in Ontario. The judge will be deciding whether to leave my case as the new precedent. Whether professional regulatory bodies can continue to trample freedom of conscience in Canada. Whether ideological colonization is acceptable in our institutions. Whether we want education systems to be systems of indoctrination churning out disaffected left wing activists. Whether Canadian schools should be used as tools used for radical left wing social engineering, only employing dedicated left wingers and passive apathetic facilitators.
Conservatives and Christians are being driven out of education.
Revolutions always strive for control of education, as well as media. SO MUCH the easier to indoctrinate the masses that way!
The OCT has explicitly positioned my case as precedent to ensure that anyone else rejecting the revolutionary zeitgeist can also be tossed for professional misconduct. They want to establish the principle that even when professionals dissent as private citizens, even under pseudonyms, even without naming their employer, they can be smeared as Nazis and completely erased from the profession.
If my appeal fails, the chilling effect will be felt beyond education. In this way, my case is similar to that of nurse Amy Hamm from BC. Teachers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers — anyone subject to regulation — will know that stepping out of line ideologically risks career execution, even when one is driven by conscience to address valid concerns of wide social significance.
Canadians are currently being crushed by this newly dominant revolutionary ideology. But this descent into darkness will not be permanent. Even if my appeal fails, my faith and hope and fighting spirit will endure.
October: Freedom on Trial
This October, freedom itself is on trial. The state has taxpayer-funded lawyers and institutional power. I have only my family and the community of dissidents — people who believe in truth and liberty. The union is grieving my dismissal by the Toronto Catholic School Board, but they wouldn’t provide a lawyer who would defend me in front of the college, so I have to pay my own legal fees for this case.
If I win, it will be a step toward reclaiming freedom of conscience for all of us. If I lose, the belief will unfortunately be further entrenched that free expression and religious conviction are fully incompatible with professional life in Canada. This will only accelerate disillusionment with Canada, and damaging brain drain!

These are worth defending.
I think it is reasonable to say that NO ONE who knows me would have imagined that after nearly two decades of teaching English, Media, and Art I would end up here — stripped of my license, equated with a Nazi, and forced into court for the “crime” of dissent. These are indeed crazy times, but it isn’t enough to dismiss all this upheaval, chaos, destruction, and degradation as insanity — or, if you are a leftist, as some natural consequence of western imperialism, or global warming. I have been using my skills and abilities in communication and art for nearly a decade now to open people’s eyes to the fact that THIS IS REVOLUTION, KIDS!
I know this fight is worth it, and I don’t feel self-pity. I don’t embrace victimhood because I lost my job and am hated by dim-witted bureaucrats, blind conformists, and radical ideologues.
I am strong through faith and feel boundless gratitude to God for the gift and blessing of my life, including every challenge I’ve faced. One of the very worst things about left wing ideology and activism is that it inculcates resentment and victimhood in people, making them weaker, when in truth, people need faith and gratitude to grow strong and victorious in life and death.
Revisiting The Soul’s Code today in the writing of this piece has reminded me that this battle is simply part of my destiny. God made me an opinionated mouthpiece and a non-conformist for this very time and purpose. Being hated, reviled, and exiled is the cost of remaining loyal to (and a beloved child of God.
I can manage that cost, but would be so delighted to get community help with my legal fees!
If we lose freedom of conscience, we lose control over our own soul’s journey.
If truth becomes illegal, freedom is impossible.
The sacred is not obsolete.

The professional associations and colleges are literally running amok with their new found authority. The deal here in Manitoba with the college of nursing was greater authority over nurses so long as the college remained mute about the healthcare system here in the province. I suspect it is the same Canada wide. It is time to call these bodies to heel and limit their powers.
This is an extraordinary piece and an insight into teaching as a free thinker in a system requiring infantile views, condolences and preferences for racial minorities, enthusiasm for genital mutilation, and ideological compliance. After calling the teacher names, they pretend the teacher has harmed children by enlightening them on a subject. Such behaviour disrupts the brainwashing. The greatest tragedy in this is that a teacher like Cheryl is out of the classroom.
