Was relevant evidence suppressed at the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal hearings because of prosecutorial conflicts of interest?
It was.
An unjustifiable ‘finding’ based on no evidence
The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal hearings in Montreal on 25-29 May 2026 were — and still are — fraudulently billed as an inquiry into ‘Missing and disappeared Indigenous children and [nefarious] unmarked graves in Canada’.
No evidence was led at the hearings on that topic.
Instead, the Lead Prosecutor, Christa Big Canoe, whose licence to practice law was suspended at the time (see attachment), led irrelevant evidence on a whole host of topics which had nothing to do with the stated purpose of the Tribunal. All of that evidence should have been ruled inadmissible by the Tribunal’s 7-member panel of ‘judges’ (see attachment). And since they had no evidence at all before them on the stated purpose of the hearings, the ‘judges’ obviously should have dismissed the indictment against Canada outright, rather than making the outrageous preliminary statement on 29 May 2026 that Canada was guilty of a ‘continuing genocide’.
Prosecution team actively suppressed evidence
It gets worse. Not only did the Lead Prosecutor, Christa Big Canoe, fail to provide the panel of ‘judges’ with any evidence at all which was relevant to the stated purpose of the hearing — ‘Missing and disappeared Indigenous children and [nefarious] unmarked graves in Canada’ — but the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal’s prosecution team had conflicts of interest which led them to actively suppress evidence on that topic.
The ‘judges’ preliminary statement lists Alisa Lombard as a leading member of the PPT prosecution team:
The prosecution team was led by Christa Big Canoe, Sarah Glickman, Brianna Rowe (Aboriginal Legal Services) and Alisa Lombard (Lombard Law) who were in charge of presenting the indictment and the evidence. [bolding added]
Why was Alisa Lombard’s participation in the PPT prosecution a conflict of interest which led to the active suppression of evidence about ‘Missing and disappeared Indigenous children and [nefarious] unmarked graves in Canada’ which should have been placed before the PPT Tribunal ‘judges’?
Lombard’s presence on the prosecutorial team was a conflict of interest because five years ago, when the Kamloops Band’s false claim on 27 May 2021 that it had discovered ‘the remains of 215 children’ (see attachment) initiated the myth that there were thousands of missing Indian residential school children buried in unmarked graves in Canada, Alisa Lombard was a partner in the Saskatoon law firm of Semaganis Worme Lombard, which in July 2021 had played a major role in preventing the truth about the Kamloops Band’s false claim from coming out in a timely manner.
The SFU connection
Dr Sarah Beaulieu, who on the May long weekend in 2021 did the spurious GPR work relied on by the Kamloops Band, had a strong connection to Simon Fraser University (SFU). She completed her PhD there in the Department of Archaeology in 2019 (see attachment). Moreover she told a reporter that she was introduced to the Kamloops Band by SFU’s Dr Eldon Yellowhorn (see attached transcript).
The Kamloops Band also had a prior history with Simon Fraser University. Among other connections, Dr George Nicholas of the SFU Department of Archaeology conducted archaeological field schools on the Kamloops reserve in conjunction with the Kamloops Band in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Significantly, during Dr Nicholas’ field schools in the late 1990s and early 2000s, archaeological excavations took place in the same area in which Dr Beaulieu did her GPR work on the long weekend in May 2021.
Dr Nicholas’ earlier archaeological field schools at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School became a matter of the highest importance the minute the Kamloops Band issued its media release claiming it had found ‘the remains of 215 children’ because the media release specifically relied on Dr Nicholas’ earlier archaeological field schools as ‘proof’ of its claim that the Band had found ‘the remains of 215 children’. The media release (see attachment) reads:
This past weekend, with the help of a ground penetrating radar specialist, the stark truth of the preliminary findings came to light – the confirmation of the remains of 215 children who were students of the Kamloops Indian Residential School. [bolding added]
What were these mysterious ‘preliminary findings’ whose ‘stark truth’ Dr Beaulieu’s GPR work had now confirmed?
A little further along in the media release, the Band provided an oblique hint. This ‘preliminary work’ was carried out in the early 2000s:
In undertaking this current investigation, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Chief and Council would like to acknowledge the preliminary work that was carried out in the early 2000’s. With access to the latest technology, the true accounting of the missing students will hopefully bring some peace and closure to those lives lost and their home communities. [bolding added]
It will be noted that the Kamloops Band deliberately did not mention who had done this ‘preliminary work’, and what its purpose was. Only later was it revealed (see below) that the ‘preliminary work’ was the above-mentioned archaeological field schools conducted by SFU’s Dr George Nicholas in conjunction with the Kamloops Band in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Because the Kamloops Band’s media release deliberately did not name Dr Nicholas as the person whose ‘preliminary work’ it was so triumphantly relying on, no reporter rushed to ask Dr Nicholas how anything found during his earlier archaeological field schools could be interpreted as ‘confirmation’ that the Kamloops Band had discovered ‘the remains of 215 children’.
It is obvious that Dr Nicholas was not looking for the remains of Indian residential school children when he conducted his archaeological field schools on the Kamloops reserve. His 2002 report prepared for the Kamloops Band, Archaeological Investigations at EERB-77: Summary of the 2002 Field Season, clearly specified the scientific purposes of the work (see attached copy).
But obviously something was found during that 2002 archaeological field school which caused the Kamloops Band to specifically claim in its 27 May 2021 media release that Dr Beaulieu’s GPR work was a ‘confirmation’ of what Dr Nicholas had found in the early 2000s. What was it?
It turns out it was an alleged ‘juvenile tooth’, later found to be non-human.
The alleged ‘juvenile tooth’ and ‘juvenile rib bone’
It will be recalled that for a month and a half after the Kamloops Band’s claim, the identity of the GPR operator was kept completely secret by the Kamloops Band. No one knew who had done the GPR work (and thus no reporter could ask her questions) until Dr Sarah Beaulieu was publicly identified for the first time when she presented the ‘evidence’ for her GPR work at a widely-publicized media event on 15 July 2021 (see attached transcript).
At that media event, Beaulieu claimed that a ‘juvenile tooth’ had been excavated from a shovel test pit during an SFU impact assessment:
Third, a juvenile tooth that was excavated from a shovel test pit during an impact assessment conducted by Simon Fraser University’s Archaeology Department.
It will be noted that Dr Beaulieu did not mention Dr Nicholas by name, with the result that no reporter rushed to contact Dr Nicholas to find out what he knew about this alleged ‘juvenile tooth’, and how it confirmed that Dr Beaulieu had found ‘the remains of 215 children’.
Nor did Dr Beaulieu reveal that the Kamloops Band had chosen not to tell her, before she did her GPR work (see attachment), that she would be checking for soil disturbances (which is what GPR does) in soil which had already been disturbed by Dr Nicholas’ earlier archaeological excavations in the late 1990s and early 2000s conducted in conjunction with the Kamloops Band. (For the relevance of that omission, see also below.)
To return to the alleged ‘juvenile tooth’ on which the Kamloops Band was placing such reliance. Almost two decades had passed since Dr Nicholas had found it in 2002. Surely it would have been tested, since the Kamloops Band was so excited about it?
In fact, it was tested, and according to the Chairman of SFU’s Archaeology Department, Dr Hugo Cardoso, it was found to be non-human. In an email on 27 July 2021, Dr Cardoso stated:
Dr. Beaulieu referenced a tooth found by archaeological excavations conducted near the residential school by one of our faculty members in 2002 — Dr. George Nicholas. In the preliminary report of the excavation results was noted a possible human tooth. This has subsequently been identified as not human, which she wasn’t aware of at the time of the press conference. This does not detract from what was stated at the press conference.
Dr Cardoso did not state when the tooth was tested, and if and when the tests results were communicated to the Kamloops Band. The key question would obviously be: Was the tooth only tested after Dr Beaulieu mentioned it at the 15 July 2021 media event? Or was it tested long before that, and the Kamloops Band already knew the tooth was non-human when the Band claimed Dr Nicholas’ ‘preliminary findings/preliminary work’ confirmed that the Band had found ‘the remains of 215 children’?
Dr Cardoso also did not explain in his email why he and Dr Nicholas did not contact reporters immediately after Dr Beaulieu referred to the alleged ‘juvenile tooth’ at the 15 July 2021 media event to clarify that SFU knew that testing had revealed the tooth to be non-human. Nor did Dr Cardoso explain his inexplicable conclusion that the fact that the tooth had turned out to be non-human ‘does not detract from what was stated at the press conference‘. That simply doesn’t make sense. Considering the level of world-wide coverage the Kamloops Band’s claim was getting, the fact that the ‘juvenile tooth’ which Dr Beaulieu had relied on as a prime piece of evidence was actually non-human would have been front page news if Dr Nicholas and Dr Cardoso had told reporters about it.
Dr Beaulieu also claimed as a prime piece of evidence a ‘juvenile rib bone’ a tourist had turned in to the Kamloops Band’s Museum. The alleged ‘juvenile rib bone’ was apparently never tested, and disappeared while in the custody of Diena Jules, who instigated the GPR work and was in charge of the Band’s Museum. The fact that the alleged ‘juvenile rib bone’ was turned in to the Band’s Museum raises obvious questions about Dr Beaulieu’s reliance on it. Did Dr Beaulieu ever actually see it? If so, that implies that the Kamloops Band still has the alleged ‘juvenile rib bone’ in its custody, and clearly Dr Beaulieu should have insisted that it be tested to determine whether it was merely a coyote or dog rib bone before telling the world at a media event that it was ‘evidence’ for the Kamloops Band’s claim that ‘the remains of 215 children’ had been found. And if she didn’t see it, why, as a scientist, did Dr Beaulieu tell the world that this ‘juvenile rib bone’ was evidence of ‘the remains of 215 children’ if she had never even set eyes on it and did not know first-hand whether it even existed?
SFU Department of Archaeology silenced by the Kamloops Band’s legal team
After the revelations in Dr Hugo Cardoso’s email of 27 July 2021, the Kamloops Band’s legal team immediately clamped down on the Simon Fraser University Department of Archaeology. According to an email from Dr George Nicholas, the very next day, 28 July 2021, the Kamloops Band’s legal team ‘strongly advised’ the entire SFU Archaeology Department not to respond to public inquiries about unmarked graves in Kamloops.
Dr George Nicholas 28 July 2021: ‘I have been strongly advised by the TteS legal team not to respond to any queries from the public regarding the search for unmarked graves in Kamloops. Their request extends to Dr. Cardoso and other members of our department. [bolding added]
The fact that the Kamloops Band’s legal team ‘strongly advised’ the entire SFU Department of Archaeology not to respond to inquiries from the public about the search for unmarked graves at Kamloops is highly significant because, in addition to the points mentioned above, Dr Nicholas’ earlier archaeological field school work with the Kamloops Band in the late 1990s and early 2000s established that Dr Beaulieu’s GPR work was seriously flawed.
As noted above, the Kamloops Band hadn’t told Dr Beaulieu about Dr Nicholas’ earlier work, and Dr Beaulieu hadn’t done the necessary preliminary historical research by which she should have discovered it for herself. In consequence, after the Kamloops Band’s false claim had overnight made her GPR work the focus of international media attention, Dr Beaulieu belatedly learned that 15 of her supposed ‘remains of 215 children’ were actually 15 of Dr Nicholas’ shovel test pits from his archaeological work with the Kamloops Band in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Dr Beaulieu thus had to revise her number down from ‘the remains of 215 children’ to 200, and for good measure she completely changed the wording from ‘remains of children’ to ‘probable burials’, and said nothing could be confirmed without excavation. She also declined to provide a copy of her written GPR report, and instead provided the email address of legal counsel Mark Ebert of Semaganis Worme Lombard as the person to contact about it.
In short, the entire false claim had collapsed by the date of the Kamloops Band’s media event on 15 July 2021, but rather than admit it, the Kamloops Band, Dr Beaulieu, Assembly of First Nations Grand Chief RoseAnne Archibald, and the Band’s legal adviser, Don Worme of Worme Semaganis Lombard, assured the public that the Band’s claim was valid. In fact, Don Worme absolutely insisted on it (see attached transcript). In response to a reporter’s question at the 15 July 2021 media event, Worme called the Kamloops Band’s claim ‘undeniable’:
Well, I think what we can say firstly is that it’s undeniable that those are graves. There’s no question that there have been children gone missing. Our Knowledge Keepers from this community have told us so. We believe them.
And, as noted above, two weeks later the Kamloops Band’s legal team doubled down on Don Worme’s comments, and silenced the entire Simon Fraser University Archaeology Department, preventing them from revealing to the public: (1) the fact that they had done archaeological work earlier at the site which would have revealed ‘the remains of 215 children’ had there actually been any remains there; (2) that SFU was aware that the alleged ‘juvenile tooth’ was non-human; (3) that SFU was aware that the alleged juvenile rib bone had inexplicably disappeared; and also (4) that according to Dr Hugo Cardoso, five anonymous archaeologists had ‘thoroughly reviewed’ Dr Beaulieu’s ‘very detailed GPR report’ and had proclaimed it ‘methodologically sound’. On 27 July 2021, the day before being silenced by the Kamloops Band’s legal team, Dr Cardoso wrote in an email:
The GPR survey at the Kamloops Residential School was preliminary, used to explore an area of interest. GPR surveys do not act as x-ray machines, but can and do identify subsurface features (e.g., walls, pipes, graves). That is the case with Dr. Beaulieu’s exploratory survey. She did produce a very detailed written report, but this has not been released by TteS at this point, I believe. The report was also thoroughly reviewed by a designated review team of five archaeologists very experienced in GPR, and all agreed that it was methodologically sound. [bolding added]
When requested to provide the names of the five archaeologists, Dr Cardoso declined to identify them.
Alisa Lombard’s presence on the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal’s prosecutorial team is a clear conflict of interest
Dr Nicholas has never revealed the name of the lawyer from the Kamloops Band’s legal team who contacted him and silenced the entire SFU Archaeology Department. It could have been Don Worme himself, who represented the Kamloops Band at the 15 July 2021 media event. It could have been Mark Ebert, who Dr Beaulieu indicated should be contacted concerning her written GPR report.
Or it could have been Alisa Lombard, whose partnership in the firm at the time was confirmed by APTN News:
Meanwhile, APTN obtained court documents showing Lombard was listed in a partnership with Semaganis Worme Legal in Saskatoon from February 2019 to February 2022.
Because she was a partner in Semaganis Worme Lombard in 2021, Alisa Lombard clearly had a conflict of interest which precluded the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal’s from putting her on its prosecutorial team. Even if she was not the lawyer who personally contacted Dr George Nicholas, Lombard cannot dissociate herself from Don Worme’s unequivocal public statement on 15 July 2021 that ‘it’s undeniable that those are graves’ and that ‘there’s no question that there have been children gone missing’. Nor can she dissociate herself from Semaganis Worme Lombard’s silencing of the entire SFU Archaeology Department, which prevented the truth about the Kamloops claim from coming out in a timely manner.
Five years later, no graves or remains have been found at Kamloops, and no one has ever provided the name of a single missing Indian residential school child who can’t be accounted for in the entire country over the entire history of the residential school system, much less 215 phantom nameless children who according to Don Worme are buried in the Kamloops Band’s Heritage Park at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. The most logical explanation for Dr Beaulieu’s 215 GPR ‘hits’ (15 of which she had to admit were Dr Nicholas’ earlier shovel test pits) is that she located the remnants of septic field trenches installed in 1924 to dispose of the Kamloops Indian Residential school’s sewage. The GPR profile of a septic field trench is very similar to the profile of a child’s grave. None of this relevant evidence was placed before the ‘judges’ at the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal’s hearings in Montreal on 25-29 May 2026. All of it was deliberately suppressed by the prosecutorial team.
The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal a complete fiasco
As has been indicated in the foregoing discussion, and in earlier articles here, here, here, and here, the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal hearings in Montreal on 25-29 May 2026 were thus a completely biased and non-transparent fiasco.
The stated purpose of the Permanent People’s Tribunal hearings was an inquiry into ‘Missing and disappeared Indigenous children and [nefarious] unmarked graves in Canada’. No evidence at all was presented to the Tribunal ‘judges’ on that topic, and all the foregoing relevant evidence — and much more — was deliberately kept from the ‘judges’ by the prosecutorial team — a prosecutorial team which included Alisa Lombard, who had a clear conflict of interest as a result of her partnership in the Kamloops Band’s legal team, Semaganis Worme Lombard, who upheld the Kamloops Band’s false claim, and silenced the entire SFU Department of Archaeology which had information which could have spiked the Kamloops Band’s false claim had it been revealed in July 2021.

By now, after 5 years, millions of tax dollars, and no effort to conclude one way or the other, by any means the confirmation of any grave, it must become apparent this was a conspiracy from the beginning. Whether its intent was to simply deceive to elicit sympathy, or the more nefarious intent to defraud Canadian taxpayers of millions, the time is now for a Judicial Investigation. All the perpetrators of this fraud must be held accountable, criminally if appropriate.
It is amazing that so many individuals can be so complicit in perpetuating the untruths, and how easily professionals rolled over to not supporting their own conclusions. It is amazing how the halls of higher learning, who’s sole purpose is to provide education through accepted truths can roll over when the “hurt feelings reports” come out. Thank goodness there are people who actually believe in truth and honesty. The world is so corrupted because of greed, Nina Green my hat is off to you, thank you.
