A teacher's request to amend Bill 98
Will Stephen Lecce restore the assumption of innocence to teachers in the face of growing numbers of superficial complaints related to DEI.
By N. Invictus (an anonymous Canadian teacher)
Honourable Stephen Lecce
I am writing to you regarding an item of Schedule 3 Ontario College of Teachers Act of Bill 98 that reads:
6 (1) Clause 26 (5)(d) of the Act is repealed and the following substituted: (d) take such action as it considers appropriate in the circumstances and that is not inconsistent with this Act, the regulations or the by-laws, including, (i) issuing a caution, reminder, advice or admonishment to the person complained against, or (ii) requiring the member to complete remedial training or education.
This change will enable the OCT to require its members to undergo remedial training or education without any proof of guilt, at their own cost, and force its members to endure humiliation, undue stress and disruption brought upon their lives and well-being.
It is no secret that during the past few years, the number of complaint cases against teachers has increased, many of which are a direct result of the superficial social sensitivity promoted through the current political and social culture. Most of the complaints of this nature are against OCT members who have opposing views of the currently dominant far-left narrative, and they have dared to express their opinion on their personal social media. On the other hand, OCT members such as the example of Jackie Araujo’s (OCT) statement on her Twitter account that openly questions the validity of an argument based on the other party being Caucasian (“Saying white scholars conclude ANYTHING about racism just doesn't cut it anymore”) does not seem to be inappropriate.
● Teachers should have the right to have opinions and to participate in social discussions freely without the fear of being required to complete training or education or being cautioned.
● Teachers should have the freedom to have their own political views and not be implicitly required to adopt the ideologies and political views of their employers and/or their union.
● Teachers should have the right to object to policies that in their professional judgement are not in the best interest of the students without being labelled, cancelled, censored, sent on home assignment, investigated, etc.
● Teachers in Ontario are implicitly and explicitly expected to accept fiction as facts and to be dishonest to parents.
The current culture of the teaching profession in Ontario does not foster any of these, quite the reverse. By amending the OCT Act with this item, instead of addressing the culture of fear and censorship, Ontario will hammer another nail into the coffin of freedom of expression and thought in the Education system. Even by submitting this writing, I am taking the risk that someone might claim that they are hurt and therefore launch a complaint against me. Not to think so is naïve.
I am asking you to reconsider this item of Bill 98 and amend it to restore the presumption of innocence until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Sincerely
N. Invictus

Writer N. Invictus is dead right about the compelled speech in the teaching profession. This example is the most relevant to me: "Teachers in Ontario are implicitly and explicitly expected to accept fiction as facts and to be dishonest to parents." Educational authorities have lost their integrity. Their commitment to woke communism is such that they forget the rights of those they are trying to indoctrinate. They falsify our past, as with the genocide lie, and they excitedly push children toward transgenderism, which is why there is no communication with parents on controversial school practices - they know it's wrong!
Remedial training, contemporarily translated, means re-education camps used by Joseph Stalin during the repressive Soviet Regime of 1930s, later adopted by China's Mao Zedong's Communist China and refined by Cambodia's brutal Khmer Rouge rule. As Karl Marx once famously said, "History repeats itself, first as tragedy then as farce". This is a farce.
