Canadian schools are indoctrination factories
And what do drag queens have to do with anti-bullying?
By
So many Canadians from coast to coast are wondering what is up with so-called “Drag Queen Story Hour”? Why would any parent want their children to be entertained by men pretending to be women? And shockingly, why do some Canadian teachers and school boards want their students entertained by drag queens? They say it is not anything sexual, that the drag queens are just reading stories or dancing in an entertaining way. Again, I ask why?
Those paying attention will already know that “inclusivity” is the standard answer given to anyone puzzling over the utility of exposing children to drag queens. When a woke teacher or a useful idiot school administrator really wants to convince us of the importance of men caricaturing women, they hit us with the trio of “diversity, equity and inclusion.” These three words are excessively spoken and written by radicals and opportunists alike - everyone else prefers not to speak or hear these words, and will only say them begrudgingly, when pretending to go along with the DEI cult.
Whether it is promoting drag queen performances, hosting trans and non-binary work shops for grade 6 students, inviting adolescent boys into the girls washrooms, teaching white kids about their so-called privilege and other kids about their lack of it, diversity, equity and inclusion policies are always behind what would have been outrageously unacceptable just a handful of years ago.
I’ve pulled a few examples from Twitter illustrating the woke madness mentioned above. There is an ongoing activist campaign to normalize DEI lingo and the language and beliefs of the Social Justice movement in general. Below is a very small sample of the woke re-education process pushed by activists from within the institutions of education.
Let’s begin.
A parent from the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) brought the following tweet to my attention. This is a grade 7/8 teacher who clearly has no respect for the religious beliefs of his students. It is an odd thing indeed that a Catholic school would hire teachers who worship the gods of DEI over the Christian God that the school is supposed to study and honour. What is wrong with this guy? How many parents of elementary students at Toronto Catholic schools do you think appreciate Mr. De Buono’s promotion of Drag Queen Story Time?
Turning our attention to the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). Here we see some artistic images created by students. All of them contain progressive political propaganda. This photo is what inspired the thought: Canadian Schools are Indoctrination Factories.
How many times do you think the art teacher used the word “inclusion” when instructing students to create these DEI propaganda posters? :
Jon Kay posted the tweet below. It appears as if over 10 Independent Schools Association British Columbia (ISABC) schools had some strange ideas inspired by the highly controversial learning resource called SOGI (Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity) that BC schools have implemented. SOGI leaders promoted a discussion where “Inclusive sleeping arrangements on overnight trips” was discussed. I would not be ok if my son or daughter were involved in an overnight trip that did not have sleeping quarters segregating girls and boys. What are the parents in this case thinking? Are they even aware of this?:
Sara Savoia, they/she, is a gender and sexual diverse consultant at the OCDSB (Why do schools need that?). Her Twitter bio claims she lives on “unceded Algonquin territory.” Here is a screenshot of the cringe:
On Friday, Savoia must have put a lot of thought into the most creative way she could be awful and offensive. Wow, did she ever deliver. In the tweet below, on Good Friday, Savoia claims that not only Jesus was a radical activist, but also a Drag Queen, who, just to be clear, was not white.
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) could do so much better:
More from TDSB:
The Peel District School Board (PDSB) is “recruiting” students in grades 6 to 8 for a “Gen Express” program this May/June. To paraphrase using all the usual activist speak: a safe and inclusive space for gender diverse and non-conforming youth where identity, lived experience, transition, and racism can be discussed openly (as long as you don’t contradict woke dogma).
Last week two TDSB trustees, Alexis Dawson and Debbie King – both of them anti-oppression black activists – called for all Grade 12 students to be enrolled in a course called “Deconstructing Anti-Black Racism.” This comes on the heels of a previous activist win when a Grade 11 course called Understanding Contemporary First Nations, Metis and Inuit Voices was made mandatory.
Sue Ann Levy offers an analysis of Dawson’s and King’s highly specious claim that the TDSB saw a 61% increase in anti-black racism in the 2020/2021 school year (a year that students were mostly learning from home due to COVID). Sue Ann is correct in pointing out the typical nonsense of anti-black racism activists.
From Sue Ann Levy’s True North report:
“To make a course in anti-black racism mandatory to the exclusion of all other ethnicities and minority groups experiencing hate and intolerance is so typical of black activists like these two trustees and their race-grifter friends.
What about a year-long course teaching how the lessons of the Holocaust are being repeated continuously?”
Yesterday was the “International Day of Pink,” a day created to highlight the victims of anti-LGBTQ bullying. This type of thing is right up the alley of the TDSB who had big plans, including a drag performance for students by drag queen Icesis Couture:
Here is a video from yesterday’s assembly at TDSB school York Mills Collegiate (Drag performance begins at 41:30). The entire event seems to be about the indoctrination of students into Social Justice activism:
It is worth pointing out that I could write a post like this every day. That is, go on Twitter and pull a few tweets from non-woke concerned parents, educators, or trustees, who post examples of the madness going on inside Canadian schools. For those paying attention, it is obvious that the phenomenon is accelerating. There are now more examples of woke encroachment and the desecration of decency happening within K-12 education than I have time to write about. It is not interesting, and it is no longer novel.
However, what I do find interesting and novel is the reaction. We are in the very beginning stages of what was long overdue and inevitable: the push back. I will have much more to say in the coming days about the organization of the woke resistance, or more accurately, the many factions of woke resistors who are fighting back in their own way. Until then, I would like to point to another True North report by Harrison Faulkner (below).
Woke Watch Canada readers will be familiar with Josh Alexander, the Catholic high school student excluded for thought crime - Josh had the nerve to assert, during a relevant classroom discussion, the human biological reality of sexual dimorphism. For this, his presence at school was deemed unsafe, and he was arrested and escorted off school grounds by the police when he attempted to attend class.
Yesterday, Josh organized a student counter-protest outside York Mills Collegiate while the assembly featuring a drag performance for students took place inside. A non-violent, student led counter-protest is a promising turn of events and a welcomed development. Josh Alexander continues to impress and fill me with hope. Keep your eye on this kid, he is going places.
Here is a video of Harrison’s report:

Many thanks for this very entertaining and comedic article. I was in stitches when I read Sara Savola's comments. In an earlier generation these people would have been recognized as lunatics. Today, for some very strange reason, they consider themselves Progressives. To me, I see this group as cultists looking for a modern day Charles Manson to lead them. Very sad epoch for Canadian education and the students who suffer as a result of this madness. Clearly, education has gone off the rails or as Ozzie Osbourne would accurately say, "Mental wounds not healing, who and what's to blame. I'm going off the rails on a crazy train."
Josh Alexander is so inspiring! So obvious that kids are tired of this nonsense.
