I’m very sorry for what happened to Richard, who was of fine character. I am also more poised to go after “the vengeful diversity bureaucrats and their lemmings who regularly steal livelihoods, careers, reputations and, perhaps most importantly, dignity, without a thought?” The woke inquisitors are a dangerous part of society, piling on people who step out of the herd.

There are likely more people who relate than any of us realize. We can help each other through.

Ups and downs in simple terms is a way of life for everyone and anyone can be subject to depression as I well know. I am not a holder of special degrees and did not benefit from a university education I am from the school of hard knocks. As a detective in the GTA working street crime for over 30 years I have witnessed the very worst and probably the very best of many people, a police officer I knew for years committed suicide under some very stressful circumstances if only I had been more aware and helped him in some way perhaps I could have helped but alas I did not.

One thing that I learnt when I encountered similar circumstances was to buckle up and get on with it, life is short so do not allow those woke and nasty types to bother you in fact stand tall and tell those people exactly what you think of them. The tail is wagging the dog folks time to stand your ground our grandchildren deserve to be protected from them.

This is an excellent piece. I agree with it all. I hope to meet you one day. The events being described herein are a tragedy, but they are more than that, as you say. I think this demands nothing less than a public inquiry. The diversity cult and its flying monkey's are out of control. This can't be allowed to continue. Fortunately ordinary people are catching on, and starting to speak up.

The writer articulates my sadness at this loss for us all. I wonder if we can create a memorial scholarship or legacy for Richard’s vision?

Thanks. The SOS group which like Richard was and I am part of are trying to do these. I suggest you connect with them. They need as much support as possible.

There are hateful things being said about him. This is war.

Thanks. I have reached out.

When I volunteered with a nonprofit, there was a suicide of a prominent advocate - a memorial scholarship formed.

Richard’s vision can’t be in vain.

Hello Nancy, the group is very busy so I shared with them your interest in helping. Would you like to connect with me? I can pass on your information directly to them.

For now we asking people to write letters to Lecce and ask for a thorough investigation and preferably cc-ing their MPP to put enough pressure for them to either wake up and/or do something. Also we sending messages to PP's office. A condolence from PP's office will go a long way.

Let me know how you would like me to connect with you?

Thanks

Thank you for such an important, thoughtful yet harrowing tale. I'm veey very sorry that you and others that are in a similar situation have gone through this social ostracism. I got a taste of it myself as I'm unvaccinated and went through the trauma of vaccine passports. Nobody, with the exception of those unvaccinated like myself, could see that they, who supported passports, were on the first stage of a slippery slope to fascism.

I was deeply saddened of Richard's passing. Like you, I never knew him but both of us in each of our ways, somehow were able to relate to the severity of his situation and tragic death. For me, I'm a teacher and to lose a colleague who had a 24 year unblemished career, and for it to have ended,by being hounded as a white supremist is unconscionable. The woman who did this Kike Ojo-Thompson, has a deep and unswerving belief that Canada is a deeply racist country. Her parents who are immigrants, were welcomed to Canada. As Ojo-Thompson writes 'She is the daughter of a Trinidadian mother and a Nigerian father. Kike experienced “internal racism” which is sometimes described as a by-product of colonialism.' The fact of this woman's deep prejudice against Canada and Canadians is more about her seeing a psychiatrist than starting an organisation that 'specializes in supporting organizations around the world, to achieve equitable outcomes for their staff and clients, using principles of anti-oppression, anti-racism, human rights and cultural safety'. Ojo-Thompson therefore was on high alert to single out defenders of Canada, which Richard was.

Like Richard, my 12th generation Franco-Scots Canadian grandmother, was killed age 30, on active duty as a firewatcher, in London, England. Her letters to her mother about life during the war are housed at the Imperial War Museum, and she writes about the Nazis and how, despite the high risk of being killed, was committed to fighting against a fascist regime. She, like millions died in the pursuit of defending liberty, which generations later, meant Ojo-Thompson's parents could have the freedom to start a new life in Canada. So too Richard, as he had helped innumerable young people, many who were immigrants, to have a positive start to their lives. Did Ojo-Thompson know or care to ask about Richards work? No. She decided to take her HATE of 'systemic racist Canada' and use Richard as an example of white privilege.

Like the Canadian soldiers of the past who went to battle for Canada, Richard of the Lion-Hearted went to the defence of his beloved country. Instead of being cheered on by his Canadian colleagues, he was ridiculed, berated and humiliated by Ojo-Thompson and not one person defended Richard's stance. He was completely abandoned. Will his colleagues understand their culpability of his suicide?

I was shocked to hear of Richards suicide as I too, almost 3 years on, still grapple with the suicide of my son's father. I can only describe this as a HUGE hole in my life. Sometimes I think that he is still alive, but the reality hits me like a hammer. Without going into great depth here about coping with the aftermath of suicide, needless to say, Ojo-Thompson is 100% culpable for contributing to the death of Richard. I hope that this ends her 'career' and her business. I agree that there must be an inquiry into all of this.

Finally, I want to thank you for your thought-provoking article and I really wish you well. I'm so sorry to hear of what you have gone through.

Thanks for the article, Anonymous. I appreciate the vulnerability and honesty. I agree that a great injustice was done and is being done to Richard and to many others, including the author of this piece. The current denial of the truth on so many fronts is directly responsible for the despair that so many people feel these days. In contrast, it's the truth that will set us free.

If it's of any consolation, please know that your words help, and I believe the work of Woke Watch Canada is meaningful and important.

We must all fight against the Marxist forces taking over our institutions. Their reaction to Richard's death has not been one of contrition but a doubling down of their perverted ideology. Let's hope that decency can prevail but it won't happen without more brave people.

Yes, the Cancel Culture must not be allowed to rule us. So sad about Richard Bilkszto and I hope his memory reminds us that backstabbing and gutless rants are never a way to express yourself.

One further thought. I haven't ever worked in education or medicine, but my sense is that today, the aggression here being exhibited against dissenters is more female typical 'mean-girl' kind of aggression.
