Do Indigenous people that 'displaced' other Indigenous people do land acknowledgement statements?

Malcolm Muggeridge once said, “people do not believe lies because they have to, but because they want to ”. The selective amnesia and delusional claims of the Mississaugas of the Credit that they are “treaty holders” of 4 million acres (1.6 million hectares) of land in the Western GTA is a perfect example of this and the need to seek self importance. For those engaged in victimhood culture it is a necessary entitlement.

Thanks for an informative article. I enjoyed reading it.

So the Mississaugas of the Credit arrived in the area of what is now the GTA in about 1700 CE and displaced the Indigenous groups who had been living here. They numbered about 500. It does seem preposterous to give them special rights over the rest of us. There were Europeans in Ontario much earlier than 1700.

It is all about money and gimmee, one claim after another with billions of our tax payer $ going to these welfare bums and it will never stop as long as that useless spendthrift blackface is in power.

I'd argue the baksheesh will continue even if there is a change of government. Poilievre has not ever addressed any FN issue and it was his party that created and assisted in passing the "genocide bill". That's enough for me to consider pulling my support, as paltry a thing as that is.

'Land Acknowledgements' are a tool of political manipulation, through guilt. The people who started them, knew that's how they were designed. Subsequent people who embraced their use did so as a result of that guilt (i.e. they were subtly manipulated) although some obviously do it because in some circles it has become a social norm, and some do it obviously because they genuinely 'feel' that it helps with 'reconciliation'. The latest poll data proves this. Most people don't really take it seriously or believe it, they do it because they can't not participate.

When large payments are made for land and that land continues to be described as un ceded, that seems to be a kind of slander and defamation.

The Toronto Purchase:

“This foolishness {“our traditional lands”} went by with virtually no comment... thanking the ‘traditional’ landowners, even when — as in this case — their claim is ridiculous…”

Interesting article, contrasting the imaginary and real treaty obligations.

The mississaugas of the credit are so-called because they were settled on the credit river which enters Lake Ontario at Port credit.

"Civil war is inevitable" says a French officer

.

This article is based on interviews 2 years ago with a senior officer in the French Army.

.

EXTRACT

PHASE 1 : TRIGGERING - Nation wide riots

.

In our scenario, France is in the middle of an election period, the debate is raging and copying the recent American election, racial tensions are at their peak, anti-police sentiment as well. A police check degenerates, the images are broadcasted on social networks like SnapChat, several cities are rioting, left-wing politicians indirectly encourage tensions trough their media relays, by organizing demonstrations, by calling high schools and university students to block their schools.

.

The situation degenerates into a nation-wide riot, the city centers are the scene of riots and exactions, the infrastructures (buses, metro, streetcar, ring roads) are regularly blocked, reducing the economic flows.

.

Groups of civilians organize to defend themselves against rioters.

.

Note: You will recognize here a scenario very similar to what the USA experienced in 2020-2021... Yet, it is a scenario that was written and played in November 2018... The French readers will be able to recognize here elements quite similar with what has been imagined by many authors of fiction too.

.

The same conditions exist and the same scenario will eventually be played out in the US, Canada, and many European countries. It is not a question of if, but rather of when.

.

A system of Apartheid already exists in France. The riots began in June 2023 when a Muslim tried to force his way through a Check Point in one of Paris’ No-Go Zones.
