Thanks Michelle, your posts are always a refreshing escape from the toxic distortions of the main stream media. I can think of no better example of an oxymoron, than Kimberley Murray's deviation from her prescribed role of objective and impartial Rapporteur. It might be truly laughable were it not for the harmful affects on Canada's image and the unnecessary burden to the taxpayer. But in context, its just one more egregious insult from our Bhangra dancing P.M. Of course the most visible paradox is her request for Jose Francisco Cali-Tzay, the UN Special Rapporteur on Indigenous Human Rights, a Guatemalan, to investigate alleged genocide in Canada. Surely this is the epitome of hypocrisy.
Guatemala's human rights record hardly qualifies itself as a legitimate candidate for casting stones against Canada. Guatemala continues to be impacted by a 36-year civil war, internal conflict and an extensive human rights violations. Disappearances, violence, and organized crime are common occurrences in this troubled country . Despite the UN Convention on the Rights of Indigenous People and the Guatemalan Constitution, the most vulnerable and excluded population group in Guatemalan society is the indigenous people. Perhaps Kimberly Murray, in her vitriolic wind mill tilting exercise is simply incapable to seeing the obvious for the obscure.
"The world is full of fools and faint hearts; and yet everyone has courage enough to bear the misfortunes, and wisdom enough to manage the affairs, of his neighbor." ~ Benjamin Franklin
One might hope that Guatemalans who lost people will be offended to learn someone, especially other indigenous people, and especially a fellow Guatemalan, compares the experience of genocide to the experience of indigenous people in Canada. It's appalling rhe Murray would presume such a comparison and that others would believe her. It is also a further example of the bias and incompetence of people appointed to TRC roles.

Kimberly Murray is a biased radical and her work should be disregarded.
Hopefully, history will not be kind to Kimberley Murray.

it's appalling that so many "settlers" are jumping on the bandwagon and oftentimes are the loudest yellers about it.
