At the University of Victoria, outside the main library, there's currently several plaques with info. about the residential schools of Vancouver Island. One plaque reads "tens of thousands of students suffered physical and sexual abuse at residential schools." It also says that 150, 000 students attended these schools, and "thousands never returned." Three staff were convicted of approximately forty criminal convictions for indecent assault and assault at both Alberni and Kuper Island schools. There have been no murder charges or convictions at any residential school. It is a major claim from a University to state that "thousands never returned" from residential schools. Considering the Woke Watch article above, which is referenced and researched, one wonders what forensic and/or documented evidence there is to support the University claims.
