My favourite line from this insightful article: “I knew they flat out lied to me in stating that they did not have furries in the school. I knew this was a lie as my child told me there are furries attending classes.”

It seems the school board has adopted a new motto: "Keeping parents in the dark, one secret at a time." Who needs transparency and open communication when you can just teach kids to hide things from their own parents? You can disagree with them, but you have to acknowledge the genius in their ways.

That was a purr..fect article Elton. I think anyone in the vicinity would know that school by all the burning tongues hanging over the telephone wires. I think the problem with todays parents is a little more serious than simple somnambulance. There seems to be many people in Ontario and elsewhere that are comatose from the post traumatic stress effect of the recent Covid pandemic that has induced a very tangible zombie like cognitive impairment. Lying to parents is just one of the symptoms. Being unable to reason and act rationally are another. It is almost like being in the Rabbit Hole with Alice so if one of those furries resembles the Cheshire Cat, you will know exactly where you are:

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.

"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."

"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Too many school boards operate under a cloak of secrecy. I have no kids in school but I do have an active interest in democracy. Our local public school board had a policy where no elected board member could speak publicly about any school board matter. If they did they got voted off the board. I took up this issue and after being stonewalled by the board I contacted the Minister of education. That set in motion a series of phone calls from various people in the political bureaucracy. Their objective was to shut me up. In the end it all came to nothing. I was subjected to a series of lies, denials and half-truths by paid employees in a powerful government organization. To this day the board is even more secretive than ever and sadly they get away with it.

Yes I'm appalled by the games at a school board level I can only imagine the corruption in higher levels of government

These 'confidentiality policies' are my number one concern with the trans issue in Ontario school boards. It goes against all democratic norms that the state would subordinate someone's rights without proactively informing them - which is the case with these gender policies and parents. They have subordinated our rights, but the vast majority of parents have no idea. The boards have a moral obligation to positively inform all parents. I have already communicated this fact to the OCDSB. I would like to communicate with Elton Robinson, can you advise how he can be reached? Thanks, Steven Lightfoot
