I totally agree that reading words, on paper or in this case the computer screen allows the reader the time to gain full understanding of the writer’s intention as there is only the writer’s words and the reader with no unnecessary electronic interpretation.
I started doing essay versions of my podcast as a test and people like the format. I am researching A.I. so I am testing out what it does with my not very woke material...lol.
I agree with you, the written word is thoughtful and articulate. However, you are ultimately selling yourself short. Podcasts are where young Canadians are ultimately getting their information from. They are listening more than they are reading. You don’t have to interview people, you don’t have to do anything spectacular, all you have to do is read out your article, record it and post it. Thats it! You have important things to say, and you owe it to everyone to have as many people hear it as possible.
My whole life,(age 72 now) I have loved the written word, more than anything. Books of all genres, newspapers, encyclopedias when I was young (thanks Dad), even dictionaries when I am doing super hard crosswords! I get lost in a dictionary! My English teacher for grades 11/12 told me I had an incredible analytical mind. That I should become a journalist or a writer. Life. As it is, and was, got in my way. I still have some of my ramblings. My Mom saved them all.
Then came, podcasts. I just can't commit to them. The odd one will catch my eye, but for the most part, no thanks. Give me the written word, every time. Especially when it is the truth. What I have noticed is how the left will take a perfectly good, normal group of words and turn them into a slur. For 10 years now....

Thank you for your words!

I quite agree. Thank you.

That is a good idea! It seems like minimal effort, and at least I would read it better than the robot that Substack provides! Thank you!!
We read at our own pace.

I am a bookworm still. Will never give up my books.
Keep up the good work.
Pray for protection. I explain how it has worked for me. Make up your own mind about the benefits with my podcast here:
