It's worse. I live in Quesnel and if the author or someone involved in these posts would like, I'll explain.

Well then, let us begin. Before my daughter, wife and I decided to pull her out of Quesnel Junior School due to unacceptable quality of staff and parenting of children at said institution, I had spoken to the principle ( Patricia Simpson ) on several occasions. Long after the claim of 215 graves at the Kamloops residential school site was debunked due to a lack of evidence and one could even say a cover up by the band and or Kimberly Murray by rejecting an investigation by the RCMP, I inquired why the school was still advertising false claims in their news letter. The letter at the time, which I wish I could remember the chronology of, went as far as to reference both the number 215 and the claim of graves at Kamloops. I asked if this was a place of factual learning or if the ideological capture was complete and they intended to re-write history and / or the present in real time. Patricia, without batting an eye, stated that she was going to have to consult the band. Alright. During the next interaction between Mrs Simpson and I, yours truly was informed that the Lhtako Dene Nation preferred that this claim be encouraged to propagate. Because after all, we can not allow facts to ruin a lucrative fiction and divisiveness amongst the population. As of late I have noticed that the news letter has no mention of blatant falsehoods, just typical woke propaganda one would expect from a British Columbia indoctrination center. Which is one of many reasons we will be moving and leaving these humans to their own devices.

I am an objective person. I not only have the ability to see both sides but have experienced many aspects of both sides. I am a proud, flawed Christian and ( not that it matters ) Metis, both my children are Status. So what am I? Should I self flagellate because I am mostly white and look it? Should I play the victim because life is not fair and I could claim some form of generational trauma? How about this. Malicious equality through meritocracy. That is not to say that some people have been dealt a bad hand in life but would you try to fix an overly dependent child by blindly shoveling money at the problem? Let us let that sink in.

P.S. These news letters are on record at the school and can be looked up or requested as I did have the document on file until I had deleted it as the town is a write off in many aspects and I wash my hands of this place.

Thanks for sharing Joel. Sadly, none of this surprises me. The entire country is falling under this woke spell!

I don't know if Terry Glavin contributed to the book or not, but his expose on the bad behavior of the Canadian MSM on this file is a great reference for you.

Glavin is not one of the contributors to the book, but I'm sure he's aware of it (and of the current kerfuffle) and will weigh in at some point.

Thanks, I hope he does, he offers good insight and pulls no punches.

I don't think this is an unusual reaction from a small community council. It is a well known fact, according to author, Andrew Smith, that "“People fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer.” The fear is born out of a lack of knowledge and ignorance on the subjects detailed in the book and their immediate reaction is to strike out and denounce it or default to the standard slur of racism. What is meaningful from this incident is not the predictable reaction but the media attention afforded the book which is the best publicity money can't buy. Frankly, I find this whole scenario both entertaining and amusing and beneficial for the promotion of this excellent book.

And now this: · https://www.change.org/p/call-for-ron-paull-to-step-down-as-mayor-of-quesnel Petition started Mar 23, 2024. Maybe Ron Paull could stay on as mayor if he agrees to divorce his wife? Or does he have to kill her to show his commitment to reconciliation?

I think you will see this incident on the next episode of the Young and the Restless. As this book gains momentum guaranteed similar events will be occurring across Canada.

Have you heard the latest SNAFU here in Ontario where the conservative government proudly announced they have given Ontario FN 60 million in the last three years to search for unmarked graves at former Res Schools. Adding insult to injury, the Minister in charge said, "Ontario is leading Canada on this and that it was the right thing to do". https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/search-in-ontario-for-indian-residential-school-burial-sites-continues/ar-BB1jV1k6?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=ACTS&cvid=43690f5ee4574d6a9097caa6170a6791&ei=13

I went directly to the original Global News article (vs. the msn version you link) so that I could "report an error" at the bottom of the story. I submitted the following:

<< The money was promised after a burial ground in Kamloops, B.C., with the remains of 215 Indigenous children discovered. >> "Poor grammar aside, Global News (and these two reporters) should know by now that no "remains" were discovered at the Kamloops site -- only soil anomalies detected by ground-penetrating radar. You are propagating a false story here and should issue an online correction to this misleading statement. "

Good for you Joan. Unfortunately we are in the era of cut and past yellow journalism were these reporters couldn't care less about the veracity of what they write.

There are some good comments on that Ontario article you link to, but only eight in total (I suspect the moderators quickly decided to close comments). Commenter Marty Frolick got a few good licks in about the "remains of 215" statement, at least. Do our protests do ANY good? I think we have to complain directly to Global News about these specific reporters (Isaac Callan and Colin D'Mello). I'll look into how to do that.
