Good article, thanks for posting. Zinn is a typical grievance monger, even if he has some valid points about US history. I agree that teaching history in a ra-ra jingoistic style isn't good, more nuance is needed, but replacing ra-ra with perpetual grievance (today's model) is worse. Unless, of course, you are a radical who wants to destroy society.
Zinn is a left propagandist, not a historian.
