Commentary from an intelligent Canadian physician -- thank you, balm for the soul. I'm curious how many intelligent Canadian physicians there are? It seems most of them must be quite stupid, ethical morons, in fact; or is it that despite their intelligence they prefer, presumably for political-cum-professional (i.e., unprofessional) reasons, to remain anonymous -- and silent -- cowards?
The Road to Hell is taken one step at a time. Trudeau is famous for his Divide and Conquer strategies. Justin may someday escape responsibility for his actions, but not everyone on the list below will be that fortunate.
You may have noticed that Justin’s public appearances are no longer published in advance. And when he attends an event, he is careful to never stand still in the same spot for more than a few seconds. We may be past the last day when many Liberals gather in one location. That may even include Parliament Hill.
My husband was prescribed Ozempic to battle his diabetes. The side effects, which included unstoppable diarrhea and vomiting for numerous days, were so extreme that it could have potentially killed him. His body could not even contain water. I would caution anyone who is considering this medication and advise against it specifically for weight loss. I do not see the point of intaking a chemical that has such drastic negative effects in order to supposedly become healthier. That is my two cents and I am not suggesting that the article is promoting this medication.
Unless I’m confused (always a possibility), Anonymed is giving us a Swiftian “modest proposal” here to point out the thinness of the rationale behind vaccine mandates. I always appreciate his/her well-written articles, and I appreciate this one as well for its tongue-in-cheek (I think) cleverness.
But I would be one of those thinking the comparison was rather a big stretch.
“And if the ultimate argument for mandating COVID vaccines was to protect the system, how is this any different?”
It’s just that the threats to the healthcare system in the case of Covid were immediate, urgent, and SCARY. Plus -- sorry, I have to say it – unprecedented. Obesity has been around for a long time (so not “novel”, even if Ozempic IS novel as a treatment or mitigator of obesity), and its impacts on the healthcare system are spread out, chronic, ongoing. When the notion of mandating vaccines was just a seed in some authorities’ brains, we were seeing body bags piling up in countries like Italy and India. People dying in line-ups to get a canister of oxygen. The wheels of government turn slowly, so by the time mandates were actually put in place, and kept in place, they didn’t make sense anymore (because of what we'd learned about the vaccines' actual capabilities) but … the wheels of government turn slowly.
Anonymed’s article is thought-provoking and makes good points about the negative effects of mandates. Thanks for posting it.
"Obesity is a curse. While it is true that some people are genetically predisposed to catch it, as well as suffer mightily from it when they do, it is no different than any other disease. "
It is different from most true diseases because it is controllable, at least so tome extent, by the individual.
