If you really want to understand this, take a look at the the Progressive Discipline policies that school principals have to follow. These come direct from the Ministry, not the school boards.
It would appear you’re laying blame on the (violent) kids, where I would argue the blame is on the woke adults, whose policies have pushed the kids to their limits.
It doesn’t matter why they’re misbehaving. The main thing is to punish them, so there’s consequences. If the parents are at fault they’ll get the message.
Sadly there are a significant number of parents who are unable to follow through on school recommendations for children's mental health issues beyond the scope of school board and parents unwilling to engage in the medical system and accept diagnoses. We know there is a grieving process but not providing medical support to a child was once an immediate child protection issue. Now it's the staff who are threatened if they raise the prospect of a CAS call and at PDSB they will be asked if the race of the child was considered. What does that mean? CAS calls for black students will be scrutinized by the Board until the worst happens.
