Todd Smith tells Doug Ford to Take this Job and Shove it
Likable former Energy Minister wasn’t about to stain his good name

After just ten weeks as Education Minister, Todd Smith is calling politics quits. It is obvious why: Would you take over as captain of the Titanic just after it hit an iceberg? That’s pretty much the assignment Ford handed Smith when he handed him the Education portfolio.
Smith knows what’s going on inside the Education system in Ontario because his wife is a school administrator. As such, she would be getting force-fed a putrid, non-stop diet of wokeism from critical race theory to gender ideology to Indigenous exceptionalism, all of which has come to a fever pitch under Ford’s watch. He has done nothing at all to put the brakes on. On the contrary he has enabled activists to take over school boards.
No true Conservative could sit idly by as schools teach kids that the most important thing about them is their racial identity, which pegs them as an oppressor or victim for life. If you are a member of one of the victim races, you have to demand hand-outs and shortcuts; you have to accept that people will expect less of you. You have to acknowledge that you’d never make it on an even playing field. If you are a member of the oppressor race, you must be willing to get to the back of the line and let less meritorious people pass you by because, well, you owe them for what your ancestors supposedly did to theirs.
What real Conservative would be just fine with kids being taught that sex is a matter of personal feelings, not biology? Got a penis but think you're a girl? No problem! You are one! Welcome to the girls change rooms and sports teams as well as all the other spaces formerly reserved for women and girls (rape crisis centers, women’s prisons, you name it).
And what actual Conservative would just sit back and let the schools shit all over our national heroes, falsely attributing blame to them for the appalling conditions so many Indigenous people endure today, when since our great nation declared itself, billions and billions have been spent propping up people who insist on the right to continue living in an obsolete and unsustainable manner? Ontario Public Schools shamelessly promote the Indian Residential School genocide myth in spite of clear evidence that not a single student was ever murdered at an IRS, nor “disappeared”, and that, on balance, the schools did far more good than harm for the few Indigenous kids that actually attended them for any substantial length of time. The nonsense claiming ground penetrating radar images are murdered kids is spoken as gospel truth.
No- a genuine Conservative could not run a school system in which hard work, dedication, and merit are denigrated as “colonial”, nor could he take charge of a system in which any form of discipline is considered abusive, a system in which those who work hard and achieve are punished, while those who accept their victimhood and slack off are rewarded.
Doug Ford has sat by and watched as activists run the education system in Ontario into the ground. Todd Smith knows that, and wants nothing to do with it.
Can you blame him?

And yet Todd Smith quietly quits his job rather than calling out the disfunction. This was his opportunity to do something/anything to fix a broken system. At least he owes it to us to speak out on the problem and why he chose to step down.
Meanwhile the reality is my kid is the ONLY white- looking girl in the whole elementary school. Not just in her class. The whole entire school. She's mixed but not mixed enough. She is ignored, socially isolated and depressed. She is taught she doesn't matter. My son the same thing in high school. The Minority category has shifted drastically. Which is fine but CRT is so toxic it's dangerous to the health and safety of kids who don't identify as anything.
