If Pierre wants my vote he can't sit on the fence! Take a stand against child abuse in public schools without accountability toward parents!!! 78% are not wrong!

I understand the frustration, but the way I see it is that if you don't vote for him, we will get 4 more years of JT! Something I am not willing to risk.

Poilievre may believe that silence is golden, but it isn't. Silence is complicity. When you have the leaders of the two other parties openly opposing parents and family values with their actions and statements, the official opposition has a moral obligation to speak out against such injustice and oppression. Remaining neutral in the face of wrongdoing should never be an option. He missed a very strategic opportunity to shine.

"Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

I am a PC and Poilievre supporter and I'm glad he abstained from the hurdy gurdy BS that these protests turned into. The fact that Trudeau and Jagmeet were all in a tizzy about this issue (which is a provincial issue) is enough for me to say good on yah, Pierre, for staying away from this contentious issue. we got way bigger problems that are within his federal purview to address.

Pierre should stay out of it. The Governing Liberals and the Liberal press will respond negatively to any position the Cons take. Know that they are much more supportive to Freedom of Expression. The Parents, or any group, has a right to criticize any policies.

With all due respect, I believe PP is taking the right course of action at this time. He advised JT to refrain from involvement in these matters and is leading by example.

In my view, he is considering the broader perspective. Additionally, the elected officials are tasked with representing all the people. It is inappropriate for JMS to participate in the counter protest or for JT to engage in name-calling towards concerned parents. Similarly, it is inappropriate for PP to undermine the children or families who are either affected by or have chosen to embrace certain gender ideologies.

These individuals are also the constituents he is meant to serve on federal issues. I understand the frustration and the potential need for his support to expedite progress. However, not only would that not have been helpful, it would also unfairly label all those parents, regardless of their background in terms of creed, race, or culture, as far-right wing.

How can that be considered a victory?

This issue of child mutilation to conform to a wistful belief of being another sex and it's promotion by schools is something that PP needs to talk about and make his position known to those who rallied across Canada. His absence will be duly noted as being a fence sitter. Personally I don't like PP as he voted that Canada caused genocide without a shred of evidence.

Too many of you guys are associated with causes that would be used by the media.

We need to consider the big picture.

The rally organizers are sincere in their efforts and worked hard to mobilize people and get them out of their comfort zones to participate in a peaceful protest. They deserve our support and praise.

On the other side of the street were seasoned agitators with lots of experience in garnering media attention and sympathy.

Putting the two groups together on streets across Canada made events very difficult to predict. To my knowledge there was no violence or destruction of property and that’s a very good thing. But what if things turned ugly? What if a lone wolf or a small group of people blended themselves into the action and pulled a stunt that overshadowed the sincere efforts of the organizers?

Making a blanket statement of support seems innocuous but the Liberals are going to make the gender wars a hill to die on. They will be dumpster diving, looking for any hints of Poilievre getting too close and personal with nasty people who will bring disrepute to his efforts.

Sure it's disappointing Poilievre kept silent on the protests/march--it seems likely he is indeed afraid of the "woke media" and Liberals poised to attack at the first sign of "old, repressive" Conservative stances. But, in fairness to him, it can also be said he is just staying out of a PROVINCIAL matter. And I think he is on record as having told Trudeau to do the same in regards to New Brunswick...

I agree it is time for Poilievre to speak up on this issue. It is true that the legacy media, all of whom area all in on this issue, which is just another sign of their complete derangment and dysfunctionality hey will go after him hammer and tong. But Poilievre has already demonstrated a pretty keen ability to handle them in a manner the two previous Tory leaders couldn't. New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs took a beating in the media but stood up to them, even when Rosemary Barton went full blown stupid on him literally calling him transphobic. He needs to take a page from Ron DeSantis's book down and Florida. It is pretty simple, this is not anti-gay or anti-pride, it the pushing of the extreme gender ideology on children that is at the heart of the matter, and what parents are right to be concerned about. This stuff is all still extremely experimental--on kids. All of he Nordic countries, who pioneered this, and the UK have all put the breaks on transitioning kids because of the damage they are now seeing. So, why is NA going all in on it now? He needs to step up and he will come out on the right side of history.

I saw some different media reporting this yesterday...... Poilievre’s office asks Tory MPs to ‘not talk to media’ on ‘gender ideology’ protests
