Well reasoned. When I taught at St Bernard's, Grouard mission I enjoyed the students interest in the natural environment. To this end I borrowed the films shown for the forestry program of grade 12 and showed them to grades7,8,9 in the evening. Many students lived in log cabins, no TV for them. This was popular. I also gave them a few drill lessons such as would be used by organizations such as the police of firemen when they would be on parade. They enjoyed this or else they would not have participated. One of the students brothers had gained entry into the Canadian forces with the intent of being an aircraft mechanic. A graduate from the school. On leaving the community my wife and I were asked to board the daughter of our Indigenous school Trustee when we went to Edmonton as she had gained access to the U of A. nursing program. Relations were good and students had achieved educational success. I believe we were no exception in our experiences.
I have known a number of residential school students and their stories are mixed. None of them talked about murder, etc., these are bizarre tales advanced by former United Church minister Kevin Annett... the same ex students who told Annett of orchard incidents also claimed the Queen had abducted a number of residential school children in 1964 and took them back to England for nefarious purposes. The Queen was not even in that part of Canada in 1964. This is not to blame the story tellers. All sorts of memories can be changed or coerced, as we know from the Satanic Panics of the 80's, etc. and studies of memory and "recovered memory." There were bad things at residential schools, the people I knew talked of being punished for speaking their language, being separated from their brothers and sisters, being arbitrarily punished, the latter a typical trait of religious schools generally from the experiences of many people I know who attended such institutions. Not sure if we're allowed links here, but here's the link to Kevin Annett's piece. https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1669764&fbclid=IwAR0DT5iut5RAa92nSJYHwI3rdz4qaDi8arD8udiV-BTTRWu4J_F54L-tdbU
The Woke non or inappropriate response to critical analysis is not just a matter of perverse obfuscation, because what is involved is not normal civil discourse.
The closest analogy is the Cultural Revolution in China and while there is no formal party leadership and apparatus in the Woke assault on traditional society, the systematic cross platform thrust is coherent and uniform in the same way as if it were centrally organized.....which it still is to some extent, as it is being run by an entire class of people who now control the means of social reproduction and administration.
It is an all-out collective attack by a plague of Woke who will not rest until the old is destroyed and the new is unassailably entrenched and institutionalized.
The attack started as a response to the rebellion of the plebs that started with the rise of Trump. It developed from libertarian horror at the challenge to established social apparatus authority, into an authoritarian counter attack that closely resembles the heresy sniffing clericalism of the Counter Reformation....and much later Red Guardism.
What we are witnessing is a late modern war on the past that inevitably is leading to a war in the present, as we fight not over territory or even loyalty to institutions, but narrative, which is the most fundamental and dangerous conflict substrate of them all, that leads to the bitterest wars of toleration fought over absolutely fundamental elements of human identity.
The use of civilizational and sexual minority pawns as trumps against the majority center is the weaponry of choice and it does a lot of damage until its targets begin to figure out that they are under fire, need to take cover, dig in, bring up reinforcement, weaponry and supplies of their own and deal with the Woke Assault the same way as you would in a conventional war.
The very first move in that direction is to stop believing that the other side is being 'unreasonable' They are not being unreasonable. They have an agenda to take us down and they think that is an entirely reasonable goal for which any methodology will do.
They are not running a drill. This is the real thing. No holds barred.
Before all of these reports on mass graves, I had a feeling of compassion for the indigenous population. I believe that our country enabled their dysfunctional dependent behaviors and the attitude of " I have a problem. What are YOU going to do about it?". Now however, after the Truth and Reconciliation" report, I do not hear full truth. I hear indigenous activists providing only one side of an embellished story to promote compelling compensatory action on our people. It is so one sided that I now refer to it all as propaganda. I now resent the indigenous population.
I think it’s ok to have compassion for the Indigenous population, who are boxed in by poor living conditions and no short or long term prospects of finding a better life full of opportunity.
It’s also ok to speak to the huge sums of money that are being transferred annually by the federal government through Indigenous Affairs and yet things at the local level don’t improve. Where is all of this money going? Does anyone know, or care?

Trudeau and other woke proselytizers have genocide envy. Too bad the Pope bought their revisionist history.
