I think a syllabus that includes basic biology emphasizing gender identity so children can understand the differences between boys and girls and appreciate that it isn't a personal decision but one intended to propagate the species would be very helpful. Second, elementary history to understand who we are, how we came to be and how government is supposed to operate. In addition, emphasis on the 3 Rs so they can become functionally literate adults and not, as Singer Don McLean wrote in his 1971 song, American Pie, "a generation lost in space".
It's disgusting that some teachers and school boards have decided they have more control over the lives of children than their own parents. It's definitely a sign of authoritarianism taking over Public Schools. I'm glad some parents are finally beginning to stand up and fight back.
