Gender Wars: The macrocosm of abuse
A Weekly Report on the Canadian Gender Wars - April 7, 2023 Vol 10
By
- Practicing AlchemistI’m going play with strange language today in my weekly report. I’ve done my best to unplug this past week and I often tend to let my mind wander into strange places when I’m decompressing. Holy days bring those ideas to the surface and new scenery inspires curiosities and reflections and sometimes when I have too much time on the brain, things can get creative, and even weird.
Before I left for some sun, a book and a beach, I covered what I believe is a serious threat of escalating unrest in Canada, as absolutist Trans Rights Activists paint themselves into ever more extreme and indefensible reality claim corners. I predicted that we will see a dramatic rise in violence in the coming months and joked on twitter this was because of my profound psychic abilities. Sadly, what’s happening is too obvious to claim special powers.
The same day I made my psychic claims, footage emerged from Vancouver of Billboard Chris, Chris Elston, being assaulted by an unhinged trans woman (a man in a wig and lipstick) exhibiting curiously male-pattern aggression and violence. The assault made international news and has raised serious questions in the public sphere about the violent nature of the trans movement.
I hope that readers will indulge my exploration today as I use some strange, perhaps full-moon, holy-day inspired language. In my quest to understand some big questions about life, psychology, philosophy and the soul, which has been a passion for me ever since I can remember, I have studied many traditions and practices and I’m going to lean into the western magical tradition in this week’s post.
In the west we sometimes call our mystery traditions, “the occult,” and treat them as taboo topics. If we look back though, we can see that we banished many of these wisdom and mystical traditions in much the same way that trans activists are trying to banish the realty of biological sex from law and lexicon.
I won’t make the case again here, because I’ve already written about the phenomenon of “Collective Amnesia” and “The Great Forgetting,” as consequences of authoritarian narrowing of thought through history. For example, during the dark ages, when much of the classical canon was lost to Europe after the great libraries were burned, the Muslims kept the books and advanced knowledge in mathematics and optics until the Renaissance, when centuries of lost texts came to Italy from the Middle East.
This was a period of flourishing for European Alchemy and the beginning of a technological explosion there. Sometimes language from those curious, nearly forgotten domains, is useful to describe things that we don’t have common models for and today I borrow an idea (known as the Hermetic Maxim) from The Emerald Tablet of Hermes, a legendary document whose text surfaced in Europe along with a number of other lost secrets in the 1200s
The concept is one that pertains to what’s known as the Microcosm and the Macrocosm: As Above; So Below; and my argument is that the phenomenon of abuse at scale (the macrocosm) is the same as in the family dynamic (microcosm).
Many people use a misinterpretation of the Hermetic Maxim to straw-man the practice of predictive astrology saying it only applies to the position of the stars and therefore corresponding events on earth. This is about as true as saying I’m denying the existence of trans people and committing trans genocide by criticizing school bathroom policies.
Alchemists and predictive astrologers get a lot wrong, but As Above; So Below is a powerful idea for examining human behaviour at an individual level and at scale. If one understands the structure and nature of the self and the microcosm, which is the core pursuits of Alchemy, one can then use the proper understanding of self to understand the world.
The secret of Alchemy here is that abuse at large scale replicates the same dynamics of abuse between individuals at small scale. Having seen these dynamics in families and workplaces, I can tell you that there are intense psychic forces at play. The abusers weave an alternate reality around themselves, their victims and their proxies that some people call a reality distortion field, or narcissistic FOG, (Fear, Obligation and Guilt). If one is a practicing Alchemist however, one might understand how to counteract these psychic forces by understanding and claiming the true nature of self. This brings me to the cycle of abuse pictured below and the definition of abuse (from psychcentral.com) pictured above.
If you watch the video of the assault on Elston, you can see the building tension. The attacker, the trans woman, begins by testing, building tension, and escalating, until the tipping point of the incident. As is the case with many abusive situations, third parties play into the dynamic. We can only imagine what kinds of excuses the shouting attacker made to the police after the assault, and it’s clear that the police are playing the roles of enablers and flying monkeys for the activists, blaming the victim and scapegoating them as so often occurs in abuse dynamics.
Elston plays the role of the problem child here, the defiant whistle-blower in the dynamic. His existence is a threat to the abuser because The Truth is always a threat to their control because it destabilizes the unquestionable power of the abuser. When challenged, the abuser or their flying monkeys MUST intervene to reassert dominance, even if what they’re trying to control is a magically conjured narrative about reality.
In the scene with Elston, we can see the rapid movement through the abuse cycle from calm, to tension-building to incident. We can also see this happening at institutional scale like school boards, who are asserting unquestionable patriarchal and matriarchal power to indoctrinate children under Critical Race Theory and Queer Theory. Their mascots are BIPOC children, and “trans kids” who they claim are highly fragile, and full of fears, anxieties and insecurities; and this narrative leads many of these kids to actually believe the victim narrative about themselves, and to take on the identity that is assigned to them.
We see this in the mobs of flying monkeys coming out to school board meetings to “protect trans kids,” using these false claims of victimizations to justify attacking and abusing people who are trying to raise concerns about the toxicities of the system and the actual harms occurring within the abuse dynamic.
It’s important to recognize that in dysfunctional systems driven by power and control, truth is irrelevant, only power has currency. Lies and reality distortions are imposed, and adherence demanded, of everyone in the system.
In the Elston assault, group dynamics come into play here with the response of the police, who were first acting as bystanders and enablers by failing to act, then picking up the role of flying monkeys, gaslighting the public and minimizing the incident in the “reconciliation” phase. Which is very often simply an abusive reframing of incident by the abuser or their allies to avoid accountability.
Trans activism, which I am increasingly seeing as a single abusive mass-psychosis, seeks to assert control over reality by demanding everyone accept their assertions but this can only carry on so long. The fatal problem in the abuse dynamic at scale is the same as within dynamic within the family. Every time the abuser goes through the abuse cycle it takes more and more extreme behaviour, and more obvious gaslighting, hyperbole and false victim claims to maintain control.
Over time, at the microcosmic level, the abused victim, a spouse or child, becomes more and more alienated from their social circle, from support resources and from anyone who can help them maintain a connection to reality outside the reality distortion field of the abuser. They become habituated to the abuse and come to believe, after their abuser has imposed a new reality, and made them question and even forget what reality was like before, that this toxic distortion field is just normal.
Sadly many abused victims chose to remain in these toxic dynamics because they never wake up from the evil spell, but children age out of abusive families and eventually leave giving them natural paths to escape family abusers. For the abused spouse there is only one saving moment: that is the WTF moment, when the abuse reaches a simple, clear moment when the target realizes perhaps the most powerful Alchemical idea they could: “I will not accept this anymore” thus embarking on the only possible path forward, to claim their sacred power, to move towards wholeness on a journey to turn the leaden dross of their lives into gold.
Back now to to my Holy Days, the full moon and some spirits. Salud!

Thanks for reading, I predict another post on the Canadian Gender Wars next week. Here is last issue in case you missed it - From violent rainbow principals to Trans Vengeance Day to self-harassment while blaming others
There are now two ways to support Woke Watch Canada through donations:
1) By subscribing to the paid version of the Woke Watch Canada Newsletter for - $5 USD/month or $50 USD/year
2) By donating to the Canadian School Board Investigation fund, which is raising money to expand Woke Watch Canada’s research and investigation into dysfunctional Canadian school boards.
It makes sense to put these trans activists in context of the abuse cycle like you said. It does seem like the far left is aiming more for "minority mascots" than never having real relationships or interactions with other people. They are truly a member of a cult or gnostic religion led by the education system.
