I think all of these boards are the same no matter what the issue. When my children were in school the local board felt empowered to allow Christian fundamentalists in the school to indoctrinate the kids with right wing Christianity. My objections fell on deaf ears. Fortunately, a letter I had written fell into the hands of a major newspaper and the next thing I knew, I was on the front page and doing a talk show on a local radio station. Other major newspapers ran the story which severely embarrassed the board. Even at that, they were reluctant to give up. I wasn't until I filed a human rights complaint that the nuisance was abated. To my surprise, I wasn't shunned or attacked and was regarded as somewhat of a celebrity. The lesson in all this is embarrass the hell out of them any way you can. It will work.

Maybe parents need to file human rights complaints then. I don't have children in school anymore, but I have grandchildren who will be in school in a few years. I believe I've raised my daughters to be aware of this ideological nonsense but one never knows how insidious it might become (more than it is already). I urged my daughters and their partners to be voters and be aware of who gets elected to school boards and municipal and regional governments, where the voter turnout is historically pathetic (in BC anyway) and that's how these radicals get a foothold. I think my daughters will be on the lookout for curriculum content I hope.

My children are all adults now but when they were in public school I didn't let anything go unchallenged. When they refused to respond to my information requests, I filed formal FOI requests and even had a judicial review of one of my requests. I always liked to remind them that the court of public opinion was just as powerful as a civil court and much cheaper. It is surprising how effective the power of one can be. People will always push you as far as you let them. The trick is not to let them.

The only way I see to win this and regain control and respect over our lives, our family values, and our minds is to take our kids out of school. I know it is easier said than done- but it is necessary- extreme times require extreme measures- these people need to be reminded that they have a job because of our kids!

Agreed! I think they need to be hit right in the wallets. When they lose their jobs due to layoffs for lack of students to indoctrinate in this pedo culture, their tunes will change. Guaranteed!

Dangerous, scary and unacceptable.

Ideology run amock--not simply a teacher but the Administration has decided they can be arrogant and rude towards a parent. Parent pay taxes, taxes pay their salaries...

Nathan received his promotion this summer. His Bully tactics are typical of administrators. We also learned that the teacher is cowardly and rushes to the administration without respecting parents.

I can see the time approaching where certain individuals will take it upon themselves to take these people out by severe measures i.e. shooting them, teachers need to be aware that this could happen to them another example would be a bomb thrown into the teachers lunch room. We all should be aware that we have muslims from radical countries living here and also of course Canadians who are mentally unstable. Anything is possible.

While I certainly would never advocate that type of response or even encourage it I can see that is what can happen when parents are not only ignored but insulted.

have a nice day everyone.

These times are different and strange compared to the past, when one only needed the better argument and reality. The unwelcome crusaders-in-charge are on a conversion quest to convert the masses and they believe themselves to be compassionate bastions of greatness. Nothing can be further from the truth, but they are holding the reigns and steering us over the cliff. Time to organize strategically, keep speaking out when and wherever possible, run for office, and get on those library boards. Democracies like ours need constant competitions and reminders that we are not going away, are getting louder, and more effective, especially when we nip problems in the bud.

I wanted to thank you for the using the expression 'historically marginalized'. It is used frequently by activists. However, as James Lindsay has correctly pointed out, its a counter-productive expression - and leads directly to victimhood thinking and mindsets. If you think about for more than a second, you realize that it is a 'forever' thing. Because it is focused on the past, by its very nature, no one can ever escape it. One retains a victimhood identity forever. This is an extremely bad way to frame one's life, and potential futures.
