More people than you may realize are coming to see the negative changes in Canadian society. Hang in there and keep highlighting the madness where you see it. Reason and logic are still very powerful and effective.

I tried to wake up two cousins and it did not end well. I offered to leave behind the latest book I was reading “no thanks”, and told I need to listen to the “experts”. Utterly brainwashed. Life is good for them right now, nice homes, travel, kids doing well (seemingly but I know it’s a matter of time before cracks show given the unlimited access to Tik Tok and provincial school curriculum). Months ago I sent podcasts and articles, no response, this time I couldn’t even get one to agree she was in the human category (after rejecting female category) as everyone is just too darn attached to all these identities these days. Too attached to belonging in the human category. There is no logic or reason. They refuse to wake up. It was soul destroying.

Changing historical designation on the fallacious whim of an imaginary racist connection is both ignorance and entitlement on steroids. It is the same vacuous mentality of those who wish to change Dundas Street in Toronto. As a life long lover of history, I bought a historical home 45 years ago, had it designated to protect it and filled it with early Canadian antiques. Needless to say, the next generation have failed to share my enthusiasm which is a reflection of the case in point. History no longer matters to the contemporary generation who were never taught it and for a prospective new home owner, designation is just an impediment to overcome. As Bob Dylan wrote in his iconic 1964 song, "the times they are a-changin," but not for the better:

Come gather 'round people wherever you roam

And admit that the waters around you have grown

And accept it that soon you'll be drenched to the bone

If your time to you is worth savin'

Then you better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone

For the times, they are a-changin'

One only has to go to India to see how former colonial buildings are treated. They are a huge mainstay of the tourist industry and painstakingly preserved. I suspect the motive of the people wishing to change the heritage status have big renovation plans rather than a legitimate grievance. The current woke madness may be a useful cover.

Your assessment of the woke rot which has invaded every nook and cranny of Cdn society is apt and continuing under radical cultural Marxist leadership. There are some things each citizen can do like speaking out, voting, writing letters, helping others fighting back, etc. But when overwhelmed by it all, my refuge and peace is God.

"[...] newcomers need to assimilate into the Western country they have chosen to reside in. Is this not why newcomers came to the Western world in the first place? because they realized the mainstream society they were born into and lived in was not optimal, to put it mildly, otherwise why bother to move? The only other explanations I can think of are either malicious intent and a desire to wreak havoc upon the country that has welcomed them"

I arrived to Canada at the end of March 1987. Immigration Canada put us (new landed immigrants) in touch with some NGO which was providing aid for new immigrants. The lady there who was my 'worker' indeed was very helpful in getting me my first job (a couple of months after my arrival), but left me with a memory which I couldn't understand until recently.

When I told her that "I want to become like Canadians are" (i.e. I wanted to *assimilate* into Canadian society), she told me that I ought not aim for that, but rather "keep my culture". I couldn't understand this: my exact motivation for immigrating to Canada was to leave the country of my birth behind & become a member of the obviously *more successful* Canadian society. But I let the remark slide *then*.

Now I understand: non-assimilationist policy orientation already existed in Canada (almost) four decades ago among the 'helping' professions -- it just became official government policy in the intervening decades.

This, "...it's no secret that, like many of you, every- single- day I feel crushed by the madness. I desperately cling to hope, and yet I am witnessing our country's accelerating descent into destruction, into doom.", is how I feel every single day as I struggle to find a reason to rise and attempt to live and enjoy my day to the fullest. I'm a 62 year old woman who never would have believed that the country I was born and raised in would look like it does today. The majority of Canadians come from immigrant families. I do and my great grandparents, maternal and paternal, came to Canada and worked hard to create a life for their families where dreams were possible and the world was our oyster.

I am most concerned for my sons; young men going to work, living paycheck to paycheck. What lies ahead for them? I don't dare tell them what my father told me about working hard, saving for retirement and creating a life where anything is possible because I don't believe that anymore. I don't even know if I will have enough money to retire, whatever that is.

Who knows what lies ahead?

The thought of writing one more letter to my MP, MLA or City Councillor feels like a huge waste of my valuable time. So what to do?

These days, I contemplate what I might do in retirement other than continue to make money to live. Being of service to others has always been a go to for me; helps me get out of my head.

Thank you for writing what I was thinking and feeling. At least I'm not alone.❤️

I am reminded of The Matrix, when one of the freedom fighters sells out their leader to the machines. He says, “I know this steak doesn’t exist, but the Matrix is telling my brain it’s juicy and delicious.” I often wonder if truth, awareness and knowledge can withstand the forces of those who just sell out others (and their nations) to enjoy a steak, saying “Ignorance is bliss.” Maybe it’s just about lying and being a hypocrite.

In the aftermath of the City of Calgary working to get rid of / recall a mayor who pretended to be something other than what she truly is, in conjunction with a federal gov't behaving in a truly reprehensible manner, one can't help but wonder about the calibre of those running for office.

Seems to me we’re seeing a large number of people (not everyone of course) running our governments – municipal, provincial / state, federal - who can easily be classified as the dregs of society. If that sounds insulting or derogatory, it’s meant to be exactly that. How else to explain the crumbling of our cities, our country, the over-indulgence and sense of entitlement among those who like to think of themselves as victims and worthy of “more” than those with such merit as intelligence or work ethic?

The Woke have taken control perhaps in part because voters had no better choices.

We’re all, all of us, me included, quite ready to grouse and gripe about who’s doing what wrong and how they could do better ... and that’s a necessary part of the equation in holding our elected representatives accountable, but we’re not backing it up with action. We’re not out there getting involved. All too often we're not even bothering to voice our concerns to those we chose to represent our interest.

Are we going to school board or city council meetings, holding the feet of decision makers to the fire by virtue of simply showing up with the tacit demand for honesty and accountability? Are we volunteering to go door to door to help good candidates get elected? (And yes, we do have good candidates though it may take some research to find them.) Are we considering running for office ourselves? Politics can be an ugly game, but we’ve all seen good people accomplish notable things; Alberta and Florida representatives spring to mind. And we all know at least one decent human being – friend, associate, family member – worthy of our vote. Are we encouraging them to get involved? Helping with the process?

This is our country. It’s crumbling around us, but still has good bones (as realtors say about buildings with solid foundations). Do we watch it fall to ruin or get involved in saving it?

I think we need to gather in Groups at Every Grocery store Chain one day a week(weekly) where we shop Tax free.

Just like the non masker going shopping in groups would pay cash and leave.

Only difference is we OMIT all taxes.

We were never meant to pay taxes after we paid the debt off after WW2. Did you know we did it in 18 months, plus aided Europe to rebuild by *donating* equipment.

So if our grandparents did that in 18 months.

Imagine the 🤔(who will do the math, lol)

Trillions of dollars over the last 85 yrs have gone to these Mother Weffers, Vatican,Royals, Soros and the rest of the demons.

To support their wars and sicko plans for Globalization.

The veil has lifted, which I predicted in Dec 2019 when the shit hit the fan. Lock us up and see how we start to wake up.

Sure enough!

Trudeau is loosing it, to the benefit of Pierre. They thought their plan was full proof with Turdo, until the lock down. They had to switch Gears and Push Pierre the punisher.

No government has ever undone law that benefitstheir pockets, after they say they will. They restructure it so more money ends up coming from the poor.

👍🤔

I see that we are in the beginning times of DEVOLUTION.

Soon we won't have to deal with federal corrupt government politicians. For they are ALL in one big barrel of spewum, floating in their mucus lies.

Lmao

Who would like to go Shopping??

🙃👍🤔👍

To me “assimilation” is about fully understanding and not necessarily giving up one’s own culture entirely. It is about being part of the society and learning to accept and respect. It is similar to joining a music group and learning to play in a band or symphony to create a masterpiece. This might mean being flexible and giving up some of the notes one is used to play all one’s life, or even trying to learn a new instrument. Assimilation includes learning the language so one can communicate and not expecting the host to learn their language and “accommodate” them till eternity.

I agree with Switzerland's citizenship policies. They are stringent, expecting applicants not only to learn the language(s) but also to pass tests on history and geography. Additionally, they must demonstrate involvement in community groups and activities that contribute to society. You will not be considered a Swiss if you are born there unless one of your parents is or becomes a Swiss. And much more. How can one truly appreciate a country if they do not assimilate into it, if they do not seek to understand it?
