Last week I published a piece in these pages called How Schools Sexualize Children about a concerned father in Waterloo who has two young daughters enrolled at a school in the Waterloo District School Board (WRDSB). David Todor has been delegating at WRDSB meeting, researching the inclusion of shocking sexually explicit age-inappropriate books in Canadian school libraires (K-12), and examining school policies and procedures concerning gender identity and sexuality. David shares his discoveries and offers advice to parents on his excellent Youtube channel, Beyond the Rift.
Below is a new article written by David on the controversial topic of child grooming in Canadian schools. -
The Child Grooming Process
By David Todor (a father and parent of Waterloo Region)
(This post originally appeared on the EmpowrConnect Substack).
Do you believe that school boards are grooming minors? I want to take you through the child grooming process and draw parallels between what the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and other school boards in Canada are promoting.
Here are 7 summarized steps that groomers use:
Targeting
Building Trust
Establishing a Connection
Isolating the Child
Desensitization
Testing Boundaries
Exploitation
1. Targeting
The perpetrator identifies a potential victim. They may choose children who are vulnerable, isolated or seeking attention and validation.
I believe that all children at the WRDSB under the age of 18 are minors and that it is a criminal offence to expose them to sexual content and engage in sexual conversations about preferred sexual behaviors with minors. School leadership openly admits that children who suffer from "gender dysphoria" or are part of the LGBTQ community are more vulnerable, and yet they insist on presenting them with inappropriate content, discussions, and sexual identity affirmations. Who is interested in knowing the sexuality of minors?
2. BUILDING TRUST
The groomer initiates contact with the child, often pretending to be friendly and caring. They may use online platforms, social media, or in-person interactions to establish rapport and gain the child's trust.
School staff establish trust with students at school and on social media. For example, on October 11th 2023, the WRDSB openly admitted to targeting minors on Instagram stating:
“you’ll begin to see posts speaking directly to students, and a shift away from posts that focus on information speaking to parents, caregivers and community members.”
This post was followed by “National Coming Out Day” which encourages minors to publicly state their sexuality and have conversations about preferred sexual behaviors.
School staff often label themselves as experts while leadership constantly labels parents as uneducated due to their criticism and pushback against gender ideology. According to those running public education, caring parents ought to be more educated in order to be qualified to make proper decisions for their own children.
2. ESTABLISHING A CONNECTION
The groomer works to create a close emotional bond with the child. They may provide attention, compliments, and gifts to make the child feel special and valued.
As a school board, the WRDSB sets aside at least 30% of the mentioned school days to celebrate, promote and affirm sexual behaviors. The entire month of June is dedicated as PRIDE Month, the entire month of October is dedicated to LGBTQ History, and a ton of other individual days / weeks dedicated to sexual awareness, for example:
International Transgender Day of Visibility
International Asexual Visibility Day
International Day of Pink
Nonbinary Parents Day
Lesbian Day of Visibility
International Day against Homophobia
Transphobia and Biphobia
Gender Equality Week
Bisexual Visibility day
International Lesbian Day
International Pronouns Day
TransParent Day
Transgender Awareness Week
International Transgender Day of Remembrance
National Coming Out Day
At a minimum, the school board dedicates 30% of their posting power on establishing a connection with gender ideology, but this can be upwards of nearly all the time in a classroom, depending on activities, clubs and the teachers’ activist interests.
Since sexual identity is promoted, any student who wishes to identify is instantly made to feel special. The school justifies this promotion as bringing awareness to struggling minorities and thus protecting against any criticism they might receive (including that from concerned parents).
3. ISOLATING THE CHILD
The groomer may attempt to create distance between the child and their friends, family, or other protective figures. This isolation makes the child more dependent on the groomer and less likely to disclose the abuse.
In WRDSB’s policy AP1235, they allow children to self-identify, while preventing the parents from knowing about the child’s social transition taking place at school. The procedure is upheld by the Director of Education Jeewan Chanicka, and it states the following:
“The student’s self identification is the sole measure of their gender.”
“A school shall not disclose a student’s gender status to the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) without the student’s explicit prior consent.”
“Doing so can potentially put a student’s well-being and safety at risk”
“Students have the right to a safe change room that corresponds to their gender identity.”
This is the type of behavior the school leadership deems appropriate as they drive a wedge between students and their parents.
4. DESENSITIZATION
The groomer gradually introduces sexual content into their interactions with the child. This can be done through discussions, explicit content, or sharing inappropriate material. The aim is to normalize sexual topics and behavior.
By now, there should be no doubt that WRDSB hand-selects explicit books and makes them available to minors. These books are commonly defended as age-appropriate empowering books that bring awareness to abuse and allow minors to see themselves in lived behaviors. Parents who criticize these books are called bigots, x-phobes, haters, and uneducated.
You don’t need to read an entire book, or watch an entire movie to deem something inappropriate. There is often adult content hidden in children’s books, and a quick sex scene should be enough for you to question why the school boards handpick this material.
An example of a book available at WRDSB is called “This Book is Gay” and the online library summary states:
“this book is for everyone, regardless of gender or sexual preference. This book is for anyone who’s ever dared to wonder.”
I am indeed wondering! Wondering why this book is handpicked by WRDSB librarians, and why many more books like it are on display in libraries including audio format and e-reading access.
Here is a quick excerpt from the book. Pay attention to the child-friendly language used to “educate” minors and offer a sympathetic view toward sexual behaviors.
Handies: Perhaps the most important skill you will master as a gay or bi man is the timeless classic, the hand job. Learning how to find a partner’s personal style can take ages, but it can be very rewarding.
Blowies: Oral sex is popping another dude’s peen in your mouth or indeed, popping yours in his. Lips and tongue, yes; teeth, no.
Bumming: It is the universal truth that many men like sticking their willies inside things. In the absence of a vagina, gay and bi men make excellent use of the back door.
5. TESTING BOUNDARIES
The groomer may start testing the child's reactions to sexual advances or suggestive conversations. They may gauge how far they can push the child without encountering resistance or disclosure.
School boards often test boundaries in different ways by offering school clubs and inviting third-party organizations (such as OK2BeMe, the Get REAL movement. etc.) to discuss sexual topics and offer support (including medical affirmation information and access to sexual affirming gear) to children who wish to pursue affirmations.
There are some teachers who are entirely indoctrinated and constantly promote gender identity in school and their classrooms, and school staff are encouraged to affirm the sexuality of kids. Assemblies and activities that promote sexual discussions take place, and the WRDSB even invited a drag queen to ‘queer’ math. Boys are allowed to enter the change room/bathroom of girls, and the school is testing the boundaries of what behavior is acceptable in school as they target minors.
6. EXPLOITATION
Once the groomer believes the child is emotionally and psychologically conditioned, they may escalate the abuse to involve sexual contact or exploitation.
Vulnerable children can be open to exploitation in many different ways by many different people/organizations. The education system primes the vulnerable students to be easily exploited by playing on their emotions (curiosity, guilt, shame, naivety, etc) and I could dedicate an entire book to this section; but here are a few quick summary points:
Exploitation by the creation of political allies that perpetuates the sexual indoctrination cycle onto younger minds
Strained family and friend relationships
Addiction to porn (creating or consuming)
Sexual addictions or abusive behaviors/relationships/sex work
Medical affirmations through therapy and reassignment surgery that may lead to lifelong psychological and physical ramifications
Financial exploitation to pay or navigate sexual addictions, therapies or surgeries, etc.
Our role as parents is to confidently protect our children and say NO to the grooming happening in schools. This behavior should not be tolerated.
In my opinion, anyone who attempts to have secretive conversations with minors about sexual preferences, behaviors, or engages in grooming, sexualization, sexual relationships/exploitation, or sexual medical affirmations (psychological or physical), should be removed from their position of power and be taken straight to jail.

David is doing good and important work. What he is finding and exposing is real. How this affects any given child depends a lot on the specific school, Principal and the teacher(s). Every parent needs to be paying attention to make sure their own child is not being indoctrinated into a cult.
How did, "stranger, danger" degenerate to this ?
